Wish we had this in Texas running between Houston & San Antonio & Austin & Dallas.

Unfortunately, the Acela goes fast only for short stretches. Look up its schedule from New York to Boston, or from Washington to New York. It cuts very limited time from the regular Northeast Regional trains.

Good point! Even so, having a similar frequency of trains at least between San Francisco and San Diego would be quite useful and popular, perhaps going via Fresno/ Bakersfield.

@@jacktattis Bullet train technology is something the mighty United States of America should of had decades ago. We should be moving millions up and down the entire United States Eastern seaboard between Boston Massachusetts and Jacksonville Florida stopping in one city in each state it travels through. I could board in Philadelphia Pennsylvania and be in New York city in 30 minutes to go to work and still be home in time for supper. It takes me about 11.5 to 12.5 hours to make the 831 mile trip from Lancaster Pennsylvania to Jacksonville Florida. 14 to 15 hours by EV. But, it would take me 4 to 6 hours by bullet train. I could travel in comfort, relax and have a meal and all at 200 plus mph and not a ripple on your martinis. This would relieve many who sit stranded at airports due to cancellations and delays during the holidays and travel seasons year after year, free up traffic and congestion on i-95 and other highways running parallel to to coast. But the good ole american people just don't see it that way thus we remain behind the far more advanced countries of the far east and Europe. Highspeed bullet trains and maglev super train technology, the new american dream....
