Hi how to apply I love this jod I am have food service certification Thank you !
First thing I do when entering a sleeping patient. I say “I’m gonna be your favorite person today. I’m not gonna poke you or make you get up. Just clean up the place. Would you like your blankets changed for warm ones after I take these old ones?” I had pure empathy. Being in the hospital is scary so I try to comfort the patient while not interfering with nurse/dr’s
Hey are you still working there

It's clean smells good beutiful
It's a good honest work if you have the responsibility to ensure that your patients are ordering foods they can have based on their diets. More troublesome than some patients is some of the nursing staff you'll be talking to. Some of them are either rude, too pushy to order something a patient can't technically have. If you have a social life say goodbye to that as diet office clerks need to work MOST weekends of the year or follow a rotating schedule. You'll need to work most holidays. Bad weather or calamity, you still need to report to work. I've done it all my 13 years at a food svc dept at a hospital. Never ever want to do that work again lol!
13 years way too long, 1 day is way too long for me 😂
I used to be a diet clerk a few years back and everything you said is on point. Some nurses are rude as hell. I also hated working in an enclosed office with a bunch of loud, obnoxious, catty women and management sucked big time. Definitely don’t miss a second of it.
I do not understand why hospitals love putting diet offices on enclosed rooms without windows to the outside world and on basement levels. It feels like a dungeon environment. And yes catty coworkers I had to deal with. We shared the room with diet techs and one of them was a gossipy loud mouth. I don’t take for granted where I work now. I get a view of the Manhattan skyline where I work now.
Thank you a lot!
Super informative video! God bless all these healthcare workers ❤️🙏🏿!

Everyday is different
What's your position? I may be a dishwasher and food prep for the hospital at which I was born! Super cool! First job as well.
@@AlchemyOfTheFourthKindHow did you like it?
Do surgeons prefer female techs?
There is no preference. What is preferred is the CST who is skilled and experienced. The newest CST who has the anticipation of the surgeon's needs and that attention to detail that was mentioned is aggressively sought by the surgeon for their case.
❤️❤️❤️
