The Chiniguchi Challenge
Переглядів 5 тис.2 місяці тому
Temagami was a tough tour, but once you’re in, you have to get out, and there was some struggle with this one. As I worked my way through the unplanned path, time and time again, I ran into the unexpected and even the surreal. I left this forest with about a dozen lessons learned. This trip was an exercise in planning appropriately, in not wasting time by chasing the greener grass and then over...
Chiniguchi Waterway, Modified Donald Lake Loop, Ch. 1

I've been champing at the bit to get to Temagami, and I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to this vast wilderness than a modified version of the Donald Lake Loop on the Chiniguchi Waterway. This trip was a bit of a trial. There were times I was seriously tested, and I think I experienced a bit of everything: forgetting gear, weather and water challenges, delicious back country cuisi...
Solo on the French River

I spent some time on the French River … during a heatwave … planning the route on the fly … during a holiday weekend. I was a bit tired, more than a bit, and truth be told the heat wiped me out. This paddling trip was to condition myself for my upcoming, intense Temagami/Chiniguchi trip after a series of semi-serious injuries. The French River has a bit of everything: lots of river paddling, di...

nice to see a new post and informative too
Thanks for checking it out!
Great video!! Love the commentary between the two of you! I found myself chuckling a time or two 🤭 The ghost train was very cool and loved the grouse (I think) at the end. Great shot!
Right you are! Ruffed grouse.
Loved it!! Love the “previously on Otter Hill….” Commentary! 😂 that wind looked crazy! Good choice to bow out and walk to your truck, and then rewarded with a nice treat of seeing mama bear and cubs. Also, loved the explanation on the tarot card. I was wondering what do you do with a reading like that? Your foresight and wisdom of kindness was a great learning tool.
Another spectacular video capturing the beauty and wonder of nature. Also, loved the commentary of the onesie! Lol!😂
I enjoyed this. When I was 17' I was a Junior Fire Ranger stationed at Grundy for the summer. Best summer job ever....$5 a day wage but fantastic food. And every weekend, more visitors would come camping (500 sites I think) so exciting for strong lads to see great looking girls.
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for checking it out!
Nothing is worth driving to Action city lol
loved this one! great camaraderie between you two. its true, when the going gets tough, you guys get going. also loved the ghost train, nice touch out in the wilderness.
The "rock quarry" fire pit ... how odd
love the humorous comments on the tough going. GREAT DRONE SHOTS. this was a very, very good video. keep the talk going about the lakes, portage and camp sites. love it, just love it.!!!!!
Looks like a great paddle! I loved your commentary surrounding the alligator boats 😂 Great nature shots as always and loved the shot of you in the tree. Looked so relaxing and contemplative. Oh and loved that you took the sunflowers on the whole trip with you. What a great idea! ❤
we especially loved the shot of you in the tree in the evening g. GREAT SHOT !!
,loved this one! the alligator boats were interesting. great shot of the gull and vulture.
Great review! Loved the personal assistant, she was a great help 😉 Poor guy on the bike, glad he seemed ok. 😊
Well done cuz!!! Loved, loved, loved the drone shots!! LIKE WOW!!!! And the fire with the water in the background, so mesmerizing. Great ad with the dinner and a show! 😊
both videos were so well done, entertaining informative. the music was relaxing and added to the ambiance. a tip for other campers to leave their camsite clean and ready for the next. it you bring it in, take it out with you.the scenery was breathtaking!!.
That drone shot, yo
Super fun trip!! Still not sure we illustrated the wrath of the bugs, how they drove us insane, and your mild anaphylatic reaction on first night! Also, I would be remiss if we did not mention the "The Greatest Canadian". A fellow camper who we observed, always shirtless and beer in hand, who appear completely unaffected by the bush bugs as we were taking shelter from.
Indeed, that guy was strangely bulletproof!
Wow!! The scenery was absolutely stunning! Loved the underwater shots!! And that portaging looked like a bit of a challenge but you looked like a pro handling the canoe and the terrain. BUGS!!! What a crazy amount!!! It seemed they really wanted to be a part of the show, just fluttering around in front of the camera 😂
@@lauradormuth7164 They were definitely written into the script. Against our wishes. 😆
Loved this! You capture nature so beautifully. Loved the shot of you sitting in the arched tree, like it was just waiting for someone to sit there and enjoy the energy of the area. Interesting information regarding Beltane and very happy you made it over the fire! 🐦🔥 Look forward to the next one
Waiting on the next episode!
erg mooie Aanleg Plek daar met bos en water er bij echt super mooie Natuur daar
so well done, loved it !!
very informative ! very entertaining, impressed with all the survival info. comical at many time in the first episode. can not Wwait for the next feature.
Another great video! Quite the solo trek! Great fortitude to make that journey and be able to enjoy it!! Some of those marshes would have me hesitating when alone. Your experience reveals your strength. Amazing the observation of nature’s circle of life encounter of the frog and snake. Loved the personal reward at the end. Well deserved! 😊 PS remember an epipen next time! 😂 Thank you for sharing natures beauty. ❤
Thanks for checking it out Laura. Epi-pen for sure!
Great video as usual. Always makes me want to be on the lake. So much miss fishing and just relaxing on our boat with my late husband. Nothing like it to destress. Thanks for another relaxing beautiful video. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Pam! Also, he was legendary! Derek and I talk about him often.
I lived and worked at KPP for four years back when I was young. Really miss that country, but I've been out on the west coast for years now. The north end, where you went, is nice, especially because there are way fewer people up there, but if you haven't been in the central and south parts of the park, they're really incredibly spectacular. There's nothing like those pure white quartz mountains anywhere else on Earth.
Sounds beautiful! Definitely plan on going back.
amazing ! can not wait for chapter 2. well done .
Absolutely stunning video of nature and all its beauty. Seeing the sand cranes up so close was wonderful. I found the magick ceremony interesting and thoughtful. Thank you for sharing ❤
Thanks for checking it out Laura!
That was great!! Loved it! The beauty of nature, the joy of the banter between you all, the sharing of meals and the intimate moment of your magic……priceless. Thanks for sharing ❤😊
Thanks for checking it out Laura! It certainly was an outing full of surprises!
loved it, so entertaining felt like we were on he trip with you. Lets see more the whole thine was amazing
Thanks for checking it out, more to come!
Beautiful cord magick in this one
Love this!! Scenery….spectacular! Sounds of the paddle hitting the 💦 ….centering. (Is that a word?) and calming to my soul❤️ Love the turtle!! ❤🐢 Were those Just Egg Plant Based Patties? Those are my go to quick breakfasts! On an English muffin with violife cheese. Oh so satisfying!! Will have to look for that Dill and Vinegar Nutritional Yeast now, looks yummy!😋
Thanks for checking it out! Yup, just egg patties, quick and tasty. And the nooch yeast flakes are like sprinkles of cheesy tasting goodness!
Love love love this!! What a beautiful spot!! Love the shot of the moon, the chipmunk, and the beautiful sound of rain!
The happiness before 6:15 to the look on your face after... priceless :D
Love this one! That chipmunk, omgs!
I love this! ❤
AH natures serenity. Well done
wonderfull trip, LOVED IT! very calming
Loved this so much. Took me back to my younger days spent fishing and exploring on many lakes with my late husband. Miss those days so much. Nothing like the feeling you get from the peacefulness, calm and quiet and the beauty of nature. Looking forward to more of your beautiful videos.❤️❤️
Loved this!! Favorite part is the morning with the river mist and the birds with their morning songs. ❤
The Whip-poor-will has a beautiful call!
In the US, we could smell the smoke from those fires. We had days where we couldn't go outside, because the air wasn't safe to breathe, and it made your eyes water. What was it like for you?
Many days were quite hazy, with the lingering smell of smoke in the air and poor air quality index alerts.
Wonderful.
So sorry that you went through such difficult times. So happy that you are finding your way back to being “you”. It takes time, but you will come out stronger and wiser at the end of your journey to find peace within yourself. This was such a beautiful video. Please make more of these. You have such a lovely calming voice and you did an amazing job of putting this video together. It was very inspirational. You should do this for a living as you could be helping so many people get through their painful issues. Big hugs, ❤️❤️❤️
amazing||||. carry on
You have captivated my heart !
I feel this. So many times, a difficult ending is the beginning of the best parts of our lives
