64 years ago my son and his grandpa would go see the trains Sat.andSun he was only 3 or 4 at the time place San Bernardino CA he still talks about it

Was fortunate enough to ride the trains in the 1950's and early 60's. Sleeping in those Pullmans were a dreamscape.

I drove a Tour Bus for 30yrs, whilst sitting somewhere killing time a parent might walk by with a kid, they'd wave so I would say to the the parent to bring them on and sit them on the drivers seat and take a photo of them at the steering wheel, its nice to be nice.

Back in time... In the middle 60s we used to come with my Dad close to the tracks to watch the trains and... to count cars, especially cargo trains. Since that time I got ability to recognize loaded/unloaded cargo train by ear. Good memories! ...30 years have passed. One day, we were coming back from the woods with our three kids on the country road alongside the rail road . Approaching cargo train slowed down on the curve. Our two boys and daughter stopped and glued to it, fascinated as all children do. - Wave it, don't be shy, - I said. Three tiny hands raised up in friendly greeting. Long-long powerful honk awarded them. This lovely episode shorten our way home and was put into treasure of children memory.
