Whether your interests lie in sailing, scuba diving, rustic camping on an undeveloped barrier island, fishing or a combination of all, this is the place for your troop or crew.

Just got back from Sease today. It was a life-changing experience.
If scout has motion sickness, would you recommend Seabase?
You can get these prescription patches before going that pretty much prevent sea sickness. Also, looking into the horizon always helped me. Motion sickness shouldn’t be a big worry. Bring remedies or prescription patches if it is a big concern. I just went to seabase with motion sickness and was able to pull through and have a blast!
What is the volume of a "medium" or "large" drybag?

There are 82,209 @boyscouts Child Sex Abuse Survivors that are Claimants in @boyscouts bankruptcy. BSA will pay less than 10% of the $2.46 Billion settlement (the rest will be paid by insurance & Councils) and pay more to their attorneys than Survivors!

I attended OAOA 620 in 2014 and had a blast sailing with Captain Martini (Martin Ivey) on the Green Olive. I want to go back someday… On another note, @BSASeaBase what song did you use for the background? It’s a great jam and I can’t find it anywhere..

Did that as a kid never got to finish it we spent one night on island then got evacuated because of Hurricane Irene in 1999
If you re watching this and going to Seabase for the first time, this is totally inaccurate for some trips
what if i show up without having completed the bsa swim test
If you show up without having completed the swim test prior to arrival at Sea Base, you will be sent home at your own expense. We do not offer programs for non-swimmers or beginner swimmers and it presents a safety concern for many of our programs.

Are there crocodiles at sea base?
I have a question 1:What kind of sharks are around seabase and are they a threat?
you will see nurse sharks and maybe a reef shark or two but you shouldn't be worried
Nurse sharks and bonnetheads are the most common. You will see other varieties at the reefs you dive (like black tips and carribbean reef sharks) , but like Nathan said, there is no need to be worried as the sharks mind their own business.

I mean, swimming ability is crucial at Sea Base for a lot of obvious reasons, and it's much more "comfortable" to swim in a pool than open water, but let's call this what it is. This is 100% identical to the "swim test" that they do at home.
Brian, thank you for your comment! The swim review onsite is similar or identical (depending upon your Sea Base location) to the swim test that is required before arrival and helps give our staff an idea of everyone's swimming ability and confidence in saltwater. It does not constitute the swim test itself. We find that several individuals have difficulty with the review onsite, so it is important (and required) as a safety consideration that all participants train and pass the swim test prior to arrival. Be Prepared for ocean adventures!

Since when was it ever not allowed to use goggles for the swim test? I’ve been lifeguarding swim test for at least 5 years.
Paul, thanks for the question. We do not conduct the BSA Swim Test at Sea Base, the participants are required to complete the test in a strong manner prior to arrival. We have the participants complete a swim review which ultimately has the purpose of exposing the participants to salt water and allowing the staff to see the skill and comfort level of the participants in the water. As many of our participants haven't seen or been in salt water before, we feel it's important to expose them to it in a safe and secure way and ask that they don't wear goggles.

I went last year, you don’t need all those clothes. Two short sleeve and a long sleeve should be sufficient. You will need a swim shirt though. You also won’t need all the rain gear, just a poncho or jacket.
