How about 85w140 gearoil?
@@martinsiebert3853 Hello I would only put in what’s specified in the user manual. 85w/140 seems very thick to me 🤔
@@gilberesrepairs Yes.... but my 5 speed transmission from 2016 with 246.000 km do make a lot of noise and vibration.
@@martinsiebert3853 That’s why you want thick oil 👍 I think there are a couple of bearings that can fail in the gearbox. I would recommend getting a good used gearbox or having your gearbox repaired by a specialist. If you put thick oil in the gearbox you can have difficulty getting it into gear. I’m sorry to say… i would replace or repair the gearbox! Sandy.

Great video. I have 2013 Peugeot 208 1.4 HDI. I am having p2563 and p1496. Which part do you think I should start with? (I changed the solenoid valve a year ago and it was fixed. Will it break again in such a short time?)
Hello Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Did you replace the solenoid with a Genuine Citroen/Peugeot part or a non-genuine part? Sandy.
@@gilberesrepairs The box looks original, the seller said so, how do I know?
@@therealwarrior1 I would say if you purchased the solenoid from Citroen, it’s probably ok one year later… but if it’s a non-genuine part it could potentially have failed. The packaging shown in my video for the solenoid is from Citroen. The only way you can know if it’s a genuine part is to buy it directly from Citroen.
Hi - great video. Do you have any ideas about bleeding brakes? a complete dry brake system filled up? ABS unit - with a scan tool?
@@mytube5340 Thanks for the compliment 👍 The short answer is.. i don’t know 🤷♂️ If it was me i would try and bleed them normally, then take it on a test drive and see what happens 😂 I know that on some cars after replacing the abs unit you have to use a scan tool to bleed the abs. I’m unsure if this is required on the Picasso. Sorry i’m of no help whatsoever 🤷♂️ Sandy.

Couldn't resist watching another man struggle to get his forearms into the belly of the beast. Hard to believe, but the filter in ours was worse than yours, when I went hunting for it in June. There's no way it had been changed 7K miles/year before, looked original to 2010. In addition to sludge and leaves I had to evict several families of spiders. Given the relative cheapness and simplicity of changing these filters, surprised most owners aren't changing them more regularly - that's what the driver & passengers are breathing in! See my favourite UA-cam quote on struggling how to do this on an S-Max from WheelsandMotors: "Unless you are octopus with no bones in your arms". Every year I have to lie on the floor with the door open: ua-cam.com/video/OyMYn_EdbPM/v-deo.html I see the rubbers below the pillar/around the engine bay are perishing and shrivelling on your C3 Picasso too. I guess they're just ballast for sound deadening but interesting that Citroen were so thoughtful to use biodegradeable materials with such a short-lifespan.

Great video and thanks for the extra camera angles. One thing I've done for yonks is write mileage and date on the squishy/top seal with a Sharpie - thinking of the next guy, and/or future me that doesn't want to pop in the house to check the spreadsheet. Also really easy to muddle up all the family's cars. If I'm on the ball I'll run off a label saying air & oil/fuel mileage & date, and stick near the battery box/somewhere sheltered - always a good reminder to plan when topping up the washer water/oil etc

My next service series will be my son’s 2017 Renault Megane he recently purchased. I’m out of action with an injured knee at the moment, but will be back to my weekly vids soon! Sandy.

@@dominicbancroft9827 I’m just using my iPhone 11 I’ve accumulated lots of different mounts and tripods to try and get good angles, but it can be difficult because cars tend to be crammed in 🙄 I’ve also picked up various lights as well, to try and get the footage half ok. I only have a cheapy china special mic for my intro’s and outro’s, the actual bulk of the video is just from my phone mic. It’s certainly been a steep learning curve for me 😂 Sandy.

Thank you - very helpful - I am a new owner of a Skoda Yeti 2015 2.0 TDi All Black 4x4. I feel I have a lot to learn about this car, I intend to perform my first service at some point next month. I had a garage last month, fit a new timing belt/water pump and new front brakes (too difficult for me to attempt), so at present I am trying to figure out the precise filters etc I need for my car. Thank you for the videos, such a blessing to have come across them. I will be buying you a coffee for sure. Out of curiosity, where did you buy the servicing parts, filters etc?
@@mfree9202 Thanks for your glowing comment 🙏 If you’re going to do the service on your car, just take on one job at a time and take your time (there’s no rush) and do a thorough job 👍 The fuel filter can be a smelly job, and don’t forget the cleanliness required!! I get my parts from a small parts shop local to me in Plymouth (try to support the small business). When i use a larger supplier, i tend to use GSF. I stay away from Euro Car Parts 😉 Sandy.

@@mfree9202 I don’t think they are supposed to be changed every year, but i always do, because if you’re spending all the money servicing the car, it’s only another £15 extra. All depends on your budget 👍 Sandy.
Thank you - at the end, why did you need to put on the ignition then off again six times?
@@mfree9202 Excellent question 👍 There’s a fuel pump in the fuel tank, and every time you turn the ignition on, the pump pressurises the fuel system. When you open up the filter you introduce air into the system, cycling the ignition/pump pushes the air out and fully fills the filter canister with fresh fuel. Best Video for this that I have seen on this!!! I am going to attempt to do this today, I will try to let you know how it went. After seeing this video I feel confident that I can take the panel off. For about a month, My window started to make a clunking noise when it was coming down, yesterday the window just slid down to the open position and won’t go up or down. I figure once I get the panel off I can figure out what’s going on with it. Thanks again!!!

What's your thoughts on replacing the sump plug? I've read in various places that you should replace it. On top of that, where can I buy a new sump plug, and how can I be sure which size of sump plug will fit my car a 2015 2.0 TDi All Black 4x4?
@@mfree9202 I wouldn’t replace a sump plug unless it had obvious signs of damage. You are supposed to replace the copper/aluminium crush washer every time you remove the plug 👍 If you are going to replace the sump plug, i would recommend the main dealer (vw). This way you are guaranteed the correct part with the correct thread size/ pitch. Probably more expensive than an eBay part, but cheaper in the long run 😉 Hope this helps! Sandy.

@@MartyMartin87 Hello. I service our cars every 10,000 miles or annually. I change the air filter as part of the service, but i’m unsure of the specified interval. Hope this helps 👍

Outstanding! How do I set my Biting Point to the middle of the clutch freeplay on a Citroen C3? I couldnt see the adjuster from underneath the pedal like any other vehicles. Thanks.

Haha yes, definitely takes commitment to own one of these 🙄 The advise at the end is a result of many years getting frustrated when the filler is not right the first time. As i’ve got older, i’ve learned to chill out and just keep applying and sanding until it’s good 👍 I was really happy with the end result when painted 😎 Thanks for watching! 🙏
Just a suggestion: change the engine oil filter first to prevent engine oil residues from remaining in the oil pan. Watch the video "Patented Mahle pin element"

I would have de-rusted those springs and repainted with smooth Hammerite where necessary as corroded springs can fail as can non corroded ones (front off side spring broke at only 6k miles on mine (Still looked like new). Also corrosion if excessive can be an MOT advisory or a fail. Also the spring top mount looked pretty badly corroded. In fact the rear beam and back plates looked bad as well. The MOT place where I get mine done would have made an advisory of them or even fail. Getting the rear beam blasted is fairly cheap then repaint it. Also the back plates. Would all look new again with prep and fresh paint and good for quite a few years without any worry. But none the less a good video and clearly explained.

This is a great video. I have followed every step and have managed to complete both the maf clean and changing the turbo actuator sensor. However, when it comes to my next step of changing the turbo converter/solenoid valve, I am working on a 1.6 hdi which appears to have an inter cooler so am at a loss as where to find this part within my own engine?

My 2006 ford ka's radiator fan keeps comming on and stays on until I switch off the engine. What could be the problem?
@@ErrolWeidemann-xn4zv Hello. Is the correct amount of coolant in the header tank? If there’s no/little coolant the fan maybe working overtime to keep the engine cool. Sandy.

Could you put 2.5 liters of oil? (My gearbox is automated manuel) I think that is the maximum capacity I wonder 2 liters or 2.5 liters is the best result.And is it necessary to change the oil filter as well
