I have been lamenting forEVER that there's no really good recording of this piece in the SSAA version I learned in boychoir a million years ago. This is beautiful--clarity, expressivity, and otherworldly perfect intonation. Love it. Thank you!!

Why the accompaniment? I'm sure such good singers won't drop in pitch or go sharp. That's what is seems like when you put a keyborad to play along.

An interesting examination. Thank you for sharing. This comports with my observations as a contemporary musician (afab) playing music in a variety of styles. I am moving towards recreating medieval music so this is very helpful. Any thoughts on non-binary voices?

The voices were expectedly marvellous, rapturous even, but the instruments _themselves_ are monotonous. Maybe you can reduce their prominence. Maybe a faster tempo might help overall.

Ms Roberts, please record more, please! Once we lose your voice, we won't get it back. Such a bright, open tone.

I love how Ms Roberts is at the perfect volume of 1.5 times louder than everyone else without blocking the important parts

The soprano voices are quite lovely, but I think the lower parts can about just be sung by altos? For me, instruments just don't give that same warmth.

This poor woman who spends her career writing about gender, disabilities, and the problem of whiteness in music, wants desperately for this music to be written by a woman despite the lack of any evidence. Most likely written by Josquin or another composer at the court during that time. Baby boomers ruined every institution built in the West, maybe she should stick to writing about the problems of whiteness in pop music instead of inserting her kum-by-ya politics into renaissance music.
