My new Audi A2 1.4 TDi | High Mileage Hero
Переглядів 3,3 тис.6 місяців тому
I've just bought this Audi A2 as my new run around, mainly because it's so cheap to run. it's on the road for 12 months for less than a deposit on a lease vehicle. Bit of a high mileage hero too, at 216,000 miles from the 3 Cylinder diesel engine. Let me know what you think in the comments and thank you for watching. Ray
The bus got written off, and not by me
Переглядів 1758 місяців тому
I'm truly gutted to have to make this video. The amount of care, time and money that has gone in to this bus is unmeasurable. Dreams of travel and adventure have been shattered. For what? Thoughtless joyriding? Who ever it was, bastard.
Mk7 Transit MOT time | Pass or Fail

it's time for the annual MOT test. I've always hated MOTs.....does anyone like them? I thought leading up to it that my rear caliper(s) might be a bit sticky. I had no worries about the bodywork or underneath, well, I was barely confident anyway I hope you enjoy this video, please help the algorithm by commenting and liking, and hitting the Subscribe button would be amazing 🙏🏻 Thank you for wat...

oh my God, man, you speak so slowly and you take so many pauses.. A UA-camr testing cars should speak much more fast, you look like an australian KOALA in holidays...driving a car😃
Hi cannot see the link?
Apologies, it didn't attach, should be there ok now
Thank you for the video and posting it to the group. We need as many how to videos as possible
Thank you for watching 😊
Link to parts?
just on eBay
I removed stickers and tar from cars with isopropyl alcohol
thank you, I got a heat gun out in the end, peeled off quite easy 🙂
That little storage space in the boot is for sneaking things past customs 😉
🤣🤣🤣🤫
Hello. Can you please share me the link thst you used to purchase this product?
Nice that rare aero kit too!
One small thing that you missed in the review, is the awesome rear leg room. Quite ridiculous for a car of these dimensions. Otherwise, yup, agree with everything else you said 🎉
@gregmacdonald927 don't think I even got in the back 🙈🤦🏻♂️.....thank you for watching and commenting, appreciate it 😊
I have a 2002 1.4 TDI 208 ,000 miles Bought for £600 nearly 4 year ago with 184,000 on her . I have replaced age related parts , suspension lower ball joints , etc springs Mostly new bits n bobs sensors , injector loom , cam belt around the engine .. I love these cars my first one Plenty of life left in the Old Girl 👍😁🚙
I'm becoming a big fan! I do need to do the cambelt, but I can't afford it atm. did think about trying it myself, for about 4 seconds 🤣🙈🙈
Hi, I like the idea of using the thick Dodo insulation. They now do a noise and Insulation, but I believe it costs more. I like the idea of keeping access to all these pockets which are normally hidden away. Take care M.
They do some good stuff, definitely worth spending the extra on in my opinion, thank you for watching and taking the time to comment
Excellent cars, like you a 53 plate TDi 1.4, 218k miles. I've done the 6-speed MYP (Passat 1.6 Bluemotion) gearbox upgrade. All same ratios as A2's original but with an extra gear. Love it to bits: fun, cheap to run, cheap parts, super economical, practical plus you're in a unique-to-segment modern classic that's only getting more and more rare. Good choice!
is that a straight forward swap?? sounds interesting...although I spend barely any time in 5th as it is 🤣 I like it in the sweet spot for pick up 🙈 loving the car though, such a fun little thing to drive and it puts a smile on my face everytime. thank you for watching and taking the time to comment 🙏🏻
Should given me a shout as a camara man 😂😂
🤣
… a reach around, and the eyes…
🤣🙈
Easily get 100 bhp from a remap
yeah I've heard that, I keep getting told 105 🤷🏻♂️ she's a flier though, loving it
PLEASE STOP SANDING YOUR HEADLIGHTS PEOPLE. AUTOSOL CHROME POLISH ,yeah im trying to shout !
Autosol chrome polish s all you need, couple of quid, couple of seconds and job done, no sanding , no hardbwork, and just finish them off with a wipe of armour all :)
Got yourself a bargin. 60mpg is normal, 80+ on long runs. Common problems are headlining (as you see), wiper arm drooping (which scratches window) and petrol button stop working (petrol flap can be opened from inside the boot area)
thank you 😊 yeah the headlining is very annoying, but no other issues so far 🤞🏻 it might go on a 400+ mile run next weekend
Glad it went well, looks like a great result!
thank you for the comment 👌🏻🙏🏻
Make sure you have the right speck of oil for car on the panel under the bonnet you should find a sticker or card that will have a code which will tell you what specific oil you need most oils have these codes on the back I will pm you of what I mean this is quite important especially with the high mileage that you have on the car to stick to the same coded oil it doesn't have to be the brand as long as it right spec to it
appreciate that, thank you 🙏🏻
I’d put a ceramic coat over it …. (EBay have some of their kits for £20 , dealer charges £400)
yeah that's what I was thinking....I'll have a look for something x
Made me laugh…. “I think I’ll call 999”
🤣🤣🙈
Join the Audi A2 Owners Club. That's the most useful resource for the A2 Enthusiast. With their help, I found an excellent garage; WOM Automotive. There are also lots of 'how to' guides. Check your front suspension control arms. They rot out. Make sure you know where to raise your car safely. The plastic sills are NOT structural! Many have damaged 'floorpans' as a result of incompetence... Enjoy your car. It WILL get under your skin! From the owner of a 282,000 mile 1.4TDI owner. 😎👍
🤣🤣 I'm sure it will..... I'm on the Facebook A2 Owners Group, have already learnt a fair bit through that. I did already know about the jacking points, I had a couple of these new "back in the day" as demonstrators/company cars (I used to sell VWs out of a dual franchise showroom between 02 and 04) I do love it already, need to do an oil and filters change too. it's just trying to find the time!!! (and motivation tbh too) Thank you for your watch, and comment 🙏🏻 😊
I had 1.6fsi and can easliy say it’s the best car I have had , and that’s after having Range Rover , Mercedes , this little beast is awesome and so underrated
You haven’t got the passengers side rear seat correctly latched. They can be rather awkward to re fit after being removed.
Had my 2003 1.4 petrol A2 since new 179,000mls so far. I have just changed the original suspension arms and exhaust so even the steel bits are quality. Enjoy your car and keep sharing.
Did you have to do passenger and driverside?
Top car mate, i have a 75 tdi too. Love it
Areas that have caused me issues are indicators failed but was a relay , £20 odd to buy second hand. Rear axle was badly corroded, £80 second hand. Washer jets, £20 odd to buy second hand,. Best thing you can do is join the A2 owners forum, best place for spares and advice. Honesty a great group of people
Just bought 1.4 tdi. Driving it more than gr yaris now
What was the problem in the end, did the cable work
I didn't finish it unfortunately, it went before I had the chance. Thank you for watching
I am genuinely so sorry to watch this. Ours was stolen a few years ago. Hope you are doing better now
Thank you, such a gutting experience. The work, and financial commitment, that goes into things like this, and it's gone. just like that. I'm doing better now, thank you. we will get another one, but maybe one that's complete/nearer completion. don't know yet. Thank you for watching x
nise
thank you
Hair dryer bud go easy with it but should release the glue
I'll give that a try 👍
Actually, it’s not really a fault of the Bosch wipers blades. The tab on the E46 drivers side wiper arm is designed to work with the old style wiper blades and should be removed when you upgrade to the new style wiper blade. The new style wiper blades from the BMW dealer come with an instruction to do exactly that. Cheers!
What did you screw the ply back into?
The gearbox worries me... And it's not a French Box (thank God!) It's actually Japanese! AISIN developed it... so fingers crossed. I am really thinking about buying one of these cars. Maybe in white (hate bright colours like yellow or blue). Want a more discreet color. Or grey. Looks elegant on Grey. One thing: does ANYONE has something to say about sound quality? Saw so many reviews. No-one speaks about that. I know it's not Harman kardon or Bose 😂😂 But... is it any good? It's something I really appreciate in a car. Great video. Thank you so much Big hug from Madeira Island, Portugal 🇵🇹
Nice video, I just subscribed your to channel and as a bus enthusiast I love the fact that you've got a Ford Transit bus/van. I found quite an interesting video of an IVECO Daily bus and it's actually quite clean and tidy considering it's age ua-cam.com/video/LoUU_Yj2v30/v-deo.html.
I would have thought careful check for rust, would have been a good idea?
there's no rust on it anywhere, it's actually a minter. took me ages to find one. Well it was, check out my latest video for an update on it
@@rayandersoncars Thats good! Do you feel the Mk7 has a good reliability record?
the 2.4 RWD seems to be the most reliable one to get from all the research I did
I'm planning on doing my floor Insulation the same way but I'm worried that the foam will compress when you walk over the plywood. Do you find this happens?
Haven't noticed anything, I had a similar fear. I think if the floor board is thick enough, should be OK 🤷🏻♂️🙈
New sub! Great video sir! I remember my trauma with Betty and her MOT a month ago 🤣 she passed at the 3rd attempt 👍
Thank you 😊 🙏🏻 I'm hoping to get re motd on Thursday
@@rayandersoncars 🤞🤞🤞
yeah.....didn't go quite as planned......new vid up explaining, I managed to hold back the tears, just.
@@rayandersoncars will have a look
Rear wiper blades are not covered in an MOT, at least they're not in a car anyway. When doing your bulb checks you should have got someone to check your brake lights as well.
I didn't even think about the brake lights 😂😂😂🙈
Why are people obsessed with "hard plastics"?? Every single small car I've owned had textured "hard plastics" including Ford, Toyota and Nissan! What you want polished walnut?? Buy a Bentley then 🙄🙄
Rust off and beautiful car
What bhp is this model mate
Not real
The main problem with the 1.2 Puretech is the wet belt which is bathed in oil and which disintegrates (crumbles) on contact with this oil to clog the lubrication circuit (notably the strainer, resulting in loss of pressure and poor lubrication). of the engine which breaks down). Many owners have been victims of this aberrant conception!
I am testing one of these tomorrow we have it for 3 days. Took it for a quick spin around tne block today when it turned up, felt very nice, looking forward to the next 3 days testing it on delivering
Yes 😂👍🥇
Credit to you mate for giving it a go About to try mine with an eBay bypass sensor
Did it work
Haha as if this is exactly the same problem I am having, thought I was going insane. Cheers buddy!
