Then she became totally overwhelmed with emotion. Surely, there's a better more sensitive, private way to propose. In that way tears are in private, no distress, yet a special moment can be experienced. Then share by video with family. Or is what appears to me as humiliation/distress the norm in the US (I'm in Scotland. I'm a married male BTW so can't appreciate fully the female perspective)
