Very very good Job 🤘
Marshall supafuzz 🔥
sound is magnificent! I have a clone of this pedal, could you give me the transistor collector voltages? grateful
Cool stuff man! I am also building and modifying vintage fuzz circuits, with the Harmonic percolator being one of my favorite, mainly because it is such a mad scientist project design that defies typical circuits of the kind. I also have been working with the classic British circuits for the authenticity they have. Glad you are keeping the original ones in great working order!👍🤙🖖
Sounds awesome Chris - w the guitar volume down at 7/8 you can really get some nice singing lead tones! Looking forward to more demos especially w your ‘54!!
Sounds great man.
Grunge brought it back but more tone sound
Yeah you need the 60s ones for the blaring sound or satisfaction sound
Fuzz is a tricky pedal but I really think post 60s g players can’t get it I mean some garage bands did get it but the players of 1966 1969 were the masters they just played different not riffy I think the post baby boom post silent players just play different some of the neo 80s bands like plastic land get it but for that blue cheer heavy psych sound it belongs on rare albums like plastic. Cloud or maze apoc times for apoc sounds but you got it more then most and besides my lead g player and we used it in the clean 80s
Oh man that is rad! Were these part of the June drop? Love it!
@@Gnarly_riffage no I haven’t done this one yet. The Zonk and Zonk II are wildly different circuits. Especially this version of the Zonk II
Hell yeah! 🤘
Oh my gawd dude
Hope you’re able to reproduce these. Electronic components were so easy to come by before digitization. Not so easy now to find some of the transistors, diodes etc. Good luck! 👍
@@JimiJamesIII they definitely are not as easy to find these days. Hunting them down takes up a majority of my time. But worth it in the end, at least I think so
Zonk II!! ⚡️
Thanks for posting this Chris! It’s cool to see and hear your playing and your shared knowledge of what we should be tuning in to when you’re applying your R2R magic to these iconic circuits- I love these vids and your anticipated Selmer Buzz Tone circuit will be an instabuy for me!
Love the sound of that Selmer fuzz. Sounds so rich and condensed.
S/o teisco. I was gifted a teisco tulip years ago. The truss rod is broken but I still love that thing. Lol
With the zonk and silvertone you got like an early White Stripes sound, sounded really sick
Awesome video. After building fuzz pedals for several years I have found they are easy to make and can do overdrive to fuzz with just one transistor and four or five components. Now it's more cost to build a new circuit and house it when new pedals cost 15$.
Holy shit a Selmer Fuzz! Cleans up beautifully too...
@@Globularmotif it’s a really great pedal, love that thing!
Please do more of these - your demos are amazing and really help to distinguish the feel of your different pedals - best fuzzes and boosters bar none!
@@Gnarly_riffage thank you so much!! I will definitely keep making these. It’s so much fun!
Fuzz yeah
Certenlly dig it
Love this series!!
@@EdgeofBreakup thank you my friend! It was so much fun. I’m hoping to do even more in the future!
Great work as usual Chris! All the best, Steve C
Excellent. So glad you started a UA-cam channel. Rock and roll music my friend.
Awesome playing btw!.
Gary Hurst is the guy here in the UK who made these original units in the back shop of Macari's on Denmark Street in London starting in '65 with Mk1 tonebenders. He's still doing his thing!.
@@keiranbradley3238 that’s right! It’s so cool to know that Gary is still working on them all this time. He and John (the owner of these pedals) are friendly and talk over email. So much incredible information he’s shared
@r2relectric He's a national treasure!. Your work is outstanding too btw, I've yet to hear a bad example of your units!. Peace.
@@keiranbradley3238 I really appreciate that, thank you!
@r2relectric I would be amazing if you could source Impex S3-1T trannies to do a Supa-Fuzz. Those sound incredible.
I know it's getting harder and harder to find genuine 60's germanium transistors but builders like yourself can get the best out of more common trannies, especially the circuits surrounding them that you build, your pedals are right up there with Stu Castledine and David Main.
Pure gravey,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,those DeArmond amps are incredible too!.
@@keiranbradley3238 I love that amp so much!
killer all around, guitars, pedals, and playing!
@@kevindrake7562 thank you!
rad
incredible job!!! nice work !!
🤘
Selmer is the most fun sounding to my ears. All very cool to see and hear! Thank you for the demo!
There is definitely something about that Selmer that sounds just right!
Love the video man, great format.
Thank you so much!
You should do maestro and moserite fuzzes to like the fuzz-tone fz-1 fz-1a fz-1b and the fuzzrite theyre awesome
I’ve got 3 FZ-1 from this same collector in the shop now. So that’s definitely in the works. I’m hoping to do many more videos like this one!
I love fuzz especially the early ones
Dude i love them all
Selmer sounds awesome 👌 👏
Definitely one of my favorites, that’s for sure!
Fuck yes! Amazing. So great to hear all these circuits. Royer R10 sounds great on the amp too, swear by that one!
Thank you brother! I really wanted to share how cool these original fuzzes really are. Not everyday you get all these together in one room
