The watch had been in the hands of its owner for six years, who wore it only occasionally. Despite this, some parts were so severely worn out that it would have taken decades of daily use for this kind of damage to occur. The seller either knew about the severe wear o...

Glad you enjoyed it 😉
Fantastic watch and restoration.
Thank you!
Amazing tutorial, and tremendous info about watches thanks sir.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
That grease is just insanely priced. More than human plasma!
Everything in watch repair is expensive 😫
@@MacroTime28800 Oh I know. I've recently started learning myself, but this grease... damn!
I've just found this. Amazing I love it, it taught me so much. I've just started and done a few Seiko movements. This video just illustrates how merger my efforts are! Butt with these types of videos to follow I can only get better! Thank you sooo much. Regards. Mike @ newforestwatches
Glad you found it helpful!
What a phenomenal video! Thank you so much for taking the time to explain what it was that you were doing, I like to be able to watch and learn at the same time.
Glad it was helpful!
sooo.... should I use lighter fluid to clean the jewels? lol
Lol, definitely not! You could use it as the first rinse/wash to save some money but then I'd rinse it in a proper horological fluid.

Thank you!
Very helpful Leo! Thanks for the video.
My pleasure!
Super Video

Hi - I’m the designer and manufacturer of the little tool you feature at 12:45! I made about 100 pieces back in 2021 I think. I sold them to Cousins and Beco-technic to distribute. It was a nice surprise seeing it again! 😀
Wow! That's awsome to hear from you! I was getting fed up battling with trying to remove the pushers until I came across this tool. Well done, a great idea. And thank you for the tip! 👍
Excellent and very informative video 👍🙏 and a great movement from Seiko. How much difference is there between this and the 7S26? Is it just the lack of handwinding? The 7S26 also has day/date complications.
There are hardly any differences between the modern Seiko movements. They are all very much the same with a few little differences 👍
Excellent. Thanks
Thank you!
Thank you for your video. I’m struggling trying to get the escapement wheel in place. No matter how I try, the wheel only stays in place for a moment, before losing contact with the train wheel. Is that normal or maybe something is broken?
I presume the pivots are OK. If that's the case, make sure it's in the jewel in the mainplate, put the bridge on but don't push the bridge down, guide the pivots in the bridge, slowly lowwering the bridge making sure all pivots are in
Great job and your work is awesome 👍🏼😎
Thank you so much 😀
Excellent instructional video! I like the "bargain" braking grease! 🤣I have been using Moebius 8217, it's all expensive. The Kluber grease probably does a better job. Great tip on what mainspring winder sizes to use for Seiko.
The Kluber is the stickiest grease I came across 👍
awesome channel! awesome videos! looking forward to more!!
Thanks so much!! I'm working on another video 😉
Brilliant that’s all I can say
Thank you!

Best microscope😅😅😅😂
Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video. I've serviced many different movements. This one is key for NH35/6 because of all the lubrication details. Much appreciated!
Thank you! Glad it was helpful 👍
How can I get an estimate and/or send you a watch for servicing? I don’t trust just anyone local. I’d rather send it to a true professional.
I'm afraid I'm not a professional. It's a hobby and I enjoy making videos
@@MacroTime28800 you might as well be, you’re very knowledgeable! More so than a lot of “watch repair shops” in the US.
Glad you like my work 🙂
much appreciated, Leo
Thank you!
why using Moebius 9010 on the third wheel ?
Did I? I'd use 9020 these days or whatever the manufacturer recommends. The BHI oiling guide calls for 9010 or 9020 but I think the 9020 would be a better choice
@@MacroTime28800 I think you used 9010 to be consistent with what you used on the other side. Since you used the automatic oiler for the third wheel and escape wheel. You probably don't have automatic oiler for hp1130 and 9010, which is understandable considering the price. Am I right?
Great video! Some of the older Seitz tools have a 3mm size anvil and 4mm pushers. 3mm anvils may be hard to find. It is something to consider when buying older tools.
I like new tools for that reason, it may be tricky to find missing bits that are no longer in production. On the other hand, the new Bergeon is lacking in quality and I believe the older ones are good
If a Rolex movement was a little village, what component would be the village idiot?
I didn't like the wig-wag pinion, it can fail and get stuck in one position. The newer 3135 has a redesigned wig-wag pinion
It was like a open heart surgery. When you put the balance I felt like heart has started to beat and watch coming to life! Great video with meticulous precision!!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
I recently picked up one of the chinese (Vevor) case back openers. I bought a seiko off of ebay that had a cross threaded back, I can't exactly compare to anything else, but it did the job to perfection, and came with a bunch of extras for doing bracelet links too. Very handy, and built like a tank.
They are simple tools. Easy to copy and not a lot that could go wrong with the copy
i own one of those how much is a service for one ?
I'm not sure. Google Seiko service, it will be on their website
Congratulations on reaching 10 k subscribers Leo .
Thank you!
really cool. I don't think I've ever seen a watch disassembled to that extent. Amazing
Thank you!
Peter. Actually you well never need the tools.?. You well only need the tools. If you are repairing watches every day.?. Peter.
You need them now and again, not daily but whenever you need to adjust the endshake or you need to replace a jewel
Peter. Are tools. Meal. or Stanlusteel. That you use in the an vowels. Peter. Thank You.
I'm not sure what you're trying to say. I think it's cast iron if that's what you're asking.
Peter. from. Dagenham. I don't think i can be as good as you. Only. I am sixty nine. And. I am on medication. And injection's. Which i can't do with out. Bye. Peter.
There are people who are much, much better than me at this and I'm not trying to be as good as them. I'm trying to better myself, that's what counts 👍
Another amazing video and inspiring to see you work! Thanks! I wish you'd visit WRT where I've sent you a PM.
Just a quick version of my previous much longer video 👍
sir i have alpinist with damage crown and thread how i fix the crown and thread set? any video idea sir
If the thread is damaged, you will need a new crown tube and a new crown 🙁
Beautiful work on a terrific looking Seiko!
Many thanks!
I've watched this several times and have begun practicing on a few hands before restoring the good ones. How long would you estimate you spend with each grit on the main top side of the hand? I found >3-4min for each paste higher than 1200 seemed to have diminishing returns but I didn't want to cut corners. I have been satisfied with the result.
Probably as you say, 3/4 minutes
Do the works really need to be fully disassembled to remove the stem? PITA
Not sure what you mean by works but everything needs to be disassembled for a service
@@MacroTime28800 My seconds hand is touching the minute hand when it is over by the 3. So, when all 3 hands are aligned near 3, it stops sometimes at 3:16. I hoped to be able to access the hands and adjust the distance, but too much has to come apart for me to pull the stem and access the face.
I love the complete descriptions
Glad you like it!
Very good video with excellent explanations
Glad you liked it! 😊
Hi Sir, I am new to watch repair and heard you say to wear an apron to catch small parts before hitting the floor. What style of apron and material? I have an old leather apron from blacksmithing I use to wear many years ago that I can use and not have to go buy a special apron but unsure if the small parts would bounce off the leather? I bring this up because just last night while I was working on a movement, I lost the smallest of setting works gears I have ever seen. Maybe 1mm across! I think it went to the floor.
Any apron is better than none. If you have leather, it’s fine. You could also improvise and make something out of a bed sheet or something like that. Ideally white, it’s easier to see the parts on white. It would be lighter and more comfortable than heavy leather 👍
The old Seitz tool can be used without the handle and replaced by the extra chrome screw knob, and it springs back as well! The same as the Horia and with the handle folded out of the way no need for the extra end shake tool.
I've seen the older ones, they have a ring on the spindle to push against the spring 👍
I have the made in Switzerland Seitz jewelling tool the same as described in the book of this video.Mine comes with the extra chrome plunger screw knob that can be used instead of the lever. When using it to to push out or set jewels the micrometer can be set to depth and the Crome knob has almost 3 mm of travel to screw down to the micrometer set depth which is more than enough to screw press the jewel in or out of its setting. The pressing shaft will return after setting or pressing the jewel out as the spring is still acts the same with the chrome top screw as when using the handle. This old Seitz set comes complete in a long box with flat pushers pump pushers concave pushers reamers anchors straiteners and anvils.A very well made old tool.
Unfortunately they don't make them like this anymore
