great video
Thank you very much. Discovery 5 DIYs are so rare to find. Appreciate the video and how detailed it is.
@@SpicedRumFLHXSE no problem
Is there any bearing I should replace while being around the water pump?
the only other thing that can be replaced really is the tensioner assembly, so might as well replace it since you’re there
Am at 112k and after watching this am do it all plus the valve cover gasket the Honda the family car and need it ready and reliable for another 100k miles
Which two buttons?
the ‘select’ n ‘reset’ buttons
excellent camera work. Thanks so much for the video. Well done and easy to follow.
Do I need a real mecanic for this job or do you think anyone with basic skills can do this job?
it’s pretty straightforward, you just need the tools
This is fantastic video. Dealer told me $550 CND to do an oil and filter change because there is no drain hole and had to be vacuumed out by a unique landrover pump and technician specially trained on the pump. insane!! thanks for the video
woah that’s absurd, glad I could help
@@qmautomotiverepair2830 no kidding that was at 9 this morning while it was in getting warranty work done. So I figure might as well get a oil change done. Needless to say I bought my own oil and filter
Can not hear persons voice at all. Very poor
that’s cap
Excellent source of information. I just realized I forgot to pack my filter removal tool for the random road trip oil change.
haha you definitely need that, also goodluck on that bottom shield, she real hefty 😂
Your video is for 2018 LR Discovery. I have 2018 and my dash is digital! Maybe yours is 2017?? Engine looks the same so can I assume the procedure in changing this oil is the same? Thank you 🙏
Digital dash is an option/upgrade in 2018+
Excuse me Mr do you have a video changing the transmission oil thank you
What kind of synthetic oil do use? I have a 2019 Discovery. 0W-20 or 5W-30?
0w-20, mobil 1 or Penzoil
Do you have to adjust the clutch on tue compressor or can I install & go?
How far u chico ca?
Im at 112k miles on my 2017, should i consider doing all this if i don’t have an issue with none yet ?
preventative maintenance is always better, but I wouldn’t hold off past 120k miles
@@qmautomotiverepair2830 thanks for the reply man
I only ask because I have same car, and when I start it in the morning it makes a sorta chirping sound n I'm wondering if that's whats going next.
Why did u have to replace the water pump was it making a noise?
By the way, why do you call Range Rover Discovery. Is this video for RR or LR Discovery. Thank you.
Hi, can you do one for 2017 LR Discovery HSE as well please. Thank you!
Video was good. I think I will use this video as my main source to replace my brother's compressor. I hope you consider updating the audio. It was hard to hear you. Thanks!
Nice video, its great to see what is being done when Land Rover charges $300 for an oil change lol. I love the service reset that you showed, I once had a land rover dealer threaten to not reset the service warning if I did not buy all the crap they were selling me that wasnt due or needed. I eventually went back to my regular dealer and they took care of me.
Much appreciated
Great straight forward vid 👍🏻
Nice camera work and straight forward information. No unnecessary rambling . Didn’t realize elbow and thermostat were all one assembly.
amazing video! Thank you!
Super Video ! Bravo. Well done. Zero critiques.
I’ve the exact car as you ….mileage is as 53,500…..when do you think the water pump and thermostat should be changed?
I suggest you do it as preventative maintenance around 90k miles, unless you experience overheating issues earlier which may be the thermostat
@@qmautomotiverepair2830 Solid advice, thank you
This has been one of the best tutorials I’ve ever watched. Thank you brother. Brilliant.
Did you have to change the condenser as well?
Usually you have to do both
That said, condensor is way easier to replace
No, I did not have to as the problem was just the clutch not engaging
@Jon Doe You dont. People have an idea that every time the ac system is operated on and or exposed to atmosphere your supposed to replace receiver drier/acumulator. Now that may be the case if its open for extended periods of time but if you do a compressor replacement it is not needed the lines are open for a small amount of time.
@Jon Doe you don’t have to replace the condenser usually… I think what calvin means is it’s better to do both, but in this case, the condenser was not leaking nor did it look old, as the mileage was about 65k
Thanks great video
My car is blue discovery does it work on all colors?
I’ve been looking everywhere on how to do this, thank you! My dealer was charging me $350+
You can remove the oil from the top of the engine with vacuum through a aluminum inlet tube located where you take off the oil cap. The dealerships use this way of draining oil out the vehicle without removing the skid plate.
Ahh yes, that is another method as well.
Hi can the oil be evaluated through suction from the top of engine? Thank you
Hello, not sure I understand your question, could you elaborate?
Yes. if you mean to suck the oil from the top
