Hey everyone! Welcome back to the channel and thanks for watching our first episode in 2024. In this video we travel to Kamloops, BC in search of a rare Mercury Mine. If you haven’t seen our first video of our trip to the beautiful Vancouver Island, we invite you to check it out. But to get you up to speed, we took the ferry from Horseshoe Bay terminal to Nanaimo, British Columbia. There we spent the first night camping at Costco, then headed to Horne Lake Provincial Park the following day. We then kayaked across the lake to film and document the Silver Bell...

Hey guys! This is our first video from our mini vacation to Vancouver Island with our kids, Addison and Tynan and Tynan’s girlfriend Jaida. It was a late start to the trip and we didn’t get to Nanaimo until 1:30 in the morning. After sleeping at Costco, we headed out to the campground we’d be staying at, Horne Lake Provincial Park. Unfortunately the road to the park was closed throughout the da...

Man Builds House Inside The Mountain
Переглядів 1,3 тис.Рік тому
Deep in the Similkameen Valley, roughly 5 kms up Hedley Creek lived a Solitary Buddhist Monk named Leon. There he built a tiny dwelling inside the mountain. It had beautifully painted walls, a wood floor and a tiny little wood stove for heat and cooking on. Leon was originally an engineer who got tired of normal everyday life and had been searching for more meaning. People would come from all o...

The Finale! Crossing Bridges And Climbing Ladders
it‘s still such a cool fact that Grave Encounters was entirely filmed here, exterior as well as interior.
Definitely!
Barry's Trading Post closed in 2024...
I noticed that last time I was going through Yale. In many ways, Yale reminds me of Spences Bridge: beautiful places, slowly dying.
Yes:( They tried to sell it, but ended up retiring and closing the doors.
Yes, sad to see so many of these small towns disappearing, when they were once full of life :(
Mind blowing to see the damage. My wife and I went up there about a year ago, and you still technically couldn't gain access to the tunnels from the north end. Have you gone up to Merritt and taken highway 8 to Spences Bridge ? It looks SO radically different up there now ! There's places where the hiway used to be on the north side of the river, but it's now on the south !! If you haven't gone up there, I highly recommend you do ! Good video !
Yes the Dromadery Express didn't last long . Those Camels were definitely out of their comfort zone . I love taking the kids up the Fraser canyon,so much history to share with them .
Beautiful area for sure with lots of stories. Thanks for watching this one and leaving a comment, we appreciate it :)
Check out the film Grave Encounters. It takes place here, it is absolutely terrifying. The film was made in 2011 so sadly the building has been vandalized more.
Yes! Great movie and quite a few more were filmed here too, which is understandable. Great location for these types of movies.
I spend time every summer and fall in Yale gold panning. At :22 that path is the one people still drive down today, and right behind that paddle wheeler is where many still pan today. Very cool.
Yes, it’s neat that it’s a public panning area for sure. We have one in Hope too :) Do you have much luck panning?
Interesting - very nice memorializing some of those buried in the old graveyard of Emory. So many children, people dying in accidents or disease.
Thank you so much for watching this one and leaving a comment, we really appreciate it :) Definitely a hard time to be living and raising a family for sure :(
I stole a drain plug from this place
lol
13:52 boobies?
wow woot woot i had no idea the mine is that huge
Ya over 13 km of underground workings!!
And this psychiatry destruction of patient abuse and torture is called science and medicine?
Psychiatry is a pseudoscience and all the patients in this asylum were made nuts by the psychiatrists.
I think many needed to be housed somewhere. I certainly don’t agree with some of their treatment etc But today, we see so many with mental health issues walking the streets and I don’t think ignoring the problem is working.
@@AdventuresRUs The problems is created from the mental health industry with their pseudoscience and drugs.
Please be careful of the old lead paint and asbestos floor tiles. I’m not sure if you are aware of the toxic mess you are exploring. 😮
Thank you for your concern, we appreciate it;) Yes, we’re aware and mention it in the video. We weren’t in there for long and the majority of the windows were open, allowing good airflow. We don’t recommend it though lol
These are some of River Views oldest. They are a part many will never see from the roads.
"It's got no gas, innit?" 🇬🇧💂💂♀️💂♂️☕🧐🎩🤵♂️👑👸🏰
Oh, look. Monkey graffiti.
😢
OMG 7:16 white fog ghost !!!!
Yes! It happened twice and it was middle of the summer so definitely not cold!!!
@@AdventuresRUs Could it have just been dust?
Every sunday my dad and i returned my cousin back to riverview, we sat in a bright lounge area and had tea and visited until my cousin got settled back in. My Mom worked in the tuck shop and would daily make my cousin an egg salad sandwich for his afternoon snack. Im glad he had someone from the family there daily.
Thank you for sharing ❤️ I hope he found the help he needed there and definitely great support and comforting to have family nearby both visiting and working on site.
My cousin spent many years at Riverview Hospital. Every friday my dad would pick him up for a 48 hr pass and he would spend the weekends with us. My Dad said no one should stay there for too long. He faithfully brought him home ,for years
Glad he was able to leave with family 💕
I hate to pop your balloon but there's nothing haunted . Anywhere . If you want something to be haunted it will be . How am I so sure ? Oh sorry, I'm an adult .
Thanks for your personal opinion lol
@@AdventuresRUs it's free
WOW thanks for all your work
WOW You should show more pictures of her face she is hot
Bruh go to horny jail
I live in hope and oh my was it crazy
It was!!
does anyone know what building it is and what side of the building it is that they entered on??
16 years in 1992 I went to that cave area and there was nothing he was there in 1994 because i studied with him...if he left in 2006 thats maybe 12 years
That’s a long time! Thanks for sharing:)
What leon didnt show you where his fridge was I know because he showed me in 1994. that shelf up high was where he stored some of his food.... his decision to become a monk was when he was at a classical concert in Vancouver...he got offerings in Vancouver until he got about 20 000 and moved to the cave .....your narrative of him just going into the woods is not the truth....in 94 he was wanting to write a book, i have meditate with him in that very cave and possible have a picture of him just outside....he was nit healthy in 1994 when he first moved there. I dont think it was the water....i know he complained about the cold, he made his own sleeping bag and it was a good one, but he was thin very thin and in 94 slept on those hard wood floors, that bed frame came much later and this was most likely why he left also he might have though he was becoming too comfortable, monks and Leon addressed this issue direct when he was training me, comfort is not your friend.
Thanks for sharing what you know. We got this information from people who also knew and spent time with him. I suppose many will look at his experience differently, but the common factors are is he spent a lot of time there and it wasn’t easy.
Fantastic video! We’ve recently moved out side of Yale and love the surroundings and the history ,we can never get enough of this. Thank you so much.👍
Thank you so much for watching and leaving a comment! We really appreciate it:) Really nice to hear you enjoyed it too:) Hope you enjoy the area for many more years!! Lots to see and do in those mountains:)
Digging this video. Maybe I will see you in one of my explores one day. ❤
Maybe we will cross paths one day :)
Just breathing in all that asbestos...
One breath at a time 👍
Wear respiratory protection. Mood, asbestos, lead, etc in there. That’s why it was boarded.
We’re aware and mentioned it in the video. Thanks for your concern.
@@AdventuresRUs OK. In the video the lady wasn't wearing any respiratory protection. When BC Housing staff enter these buildings they wear full hazmat protective suits including respiratory and eye protection I heard. Anyways thanks for posting the video.
Near the end were those gold veins on the walls? 😮 They seemed to be everywhere.
Sure did look like it eh! But unfortunately rarely do you see visible gold in mines, especially here in Canada.
This shows the incompetence of our government. Administrators at work.
Frustrating to see places like this go to waste for sure!!
Does anyone know where the underground tunnel entrance is for the crease building?
We saw it from the exterior, but not sure where it takes you after you enter. We’ve seen others enter it though, but don’t see where it goes once they’re in.
It's like how the hell did they do all that . Jus think today we have problems building a shed.
😂 but in all seriousness, they did some amazing things back then for sure!!
Given the history of this place I'm surprised that the top ghost hunters have never been in there may all the souls through time rest in peace
I've been inside a few times in my time it's not safe as asbestos in the air definitely don't want to breathe that stuff in also 100% this place has a diff feeling at night but truth be told whether day or night it makes u feel on edge lol
It definitely puts off an unsettling feeling for sure.

1996 the first 2 floors was presentable cuz they housed the gurls volleyball for the indigenous games... 3rd floor was off limits but i went looked anywayz.. it looked like an asylum that u would see in an old movie
Awesome videos! I really enjoyed the Nanaimo one. Cheers.
Man thank you ! I bet everyone is thinking of this devastating event and thinking of the people there . ✌️♥️🙏🥺
Thanks for the video. I worked as a Film Liaison at Riverview for a while and have been in almost every building at Riverview. I have never been in Westlawn, the name of the building in this video, although it has had several names over the decades. I had, however, walked the perimeter of this building many a night and I can tell you that it certainly is creepy at 3AM. My very first shift at Riverview was for a stunt setup out front of this building one hot, July morning. With no one around for like 100 yards in every direction, I stood at my car having a snack when some disembodied voice started yelling in my right ear. Naturally, I abruptly turned to confront the inconsiderate bastard yelling at me only to see no one around. I was frequently tapped to pull the late night sifts as liaison due to my lack of fear of the unknown. Many a night I spent alone in these old hospitals walking the dark halls armed with only a penlight to see by. One of the things I enjoyed the most was standing in the pitch black of the steam tunnels in Crease Clinic. Sometimes I would walk in complete darkness with my arms outstretched and snap flash pictures into the creepy, empty recesses often found in tunnels. I miss the late night shifts there.
We go there every October They should make it into a Haunted Asylum for Halloween Month...Now that would be Freaky
thank you !!!
Thanks for taking the risk for us to wander through that building, I thoroughly enjoyed the first couple minutes shot from the drone, it certainly added an aura of mystique. Though I've wandered around the grounds, I always wanted to explore inside myself, but I'm not as young and fit as my brain tricks me into thinking I am......I mostly enjoy photography, and though I'm no professional I noticed some awesome opportunities, looking through some of the broken windows at the deteriorating exterior, the peeling tiles and the shadows they cast on the floors, the long walls with cracked and peeling layers of paint.....the possibilities are endless.
Thank you for watching and leaving a comment, we really appreciate it :) Definitely a great spot to get some good shots! A lot of ppl enjoy going there and taking photos and I understand why.
creepy, my uncle was in colony farms. he was not well in the head .
Glad there was a place for him to get some help. Colony farms was a great opportunity and they put some thought into how it could help and benefit people. I’ve spoken to a few ppl who had friends or family there now.
Ain't got no gas in it ! Lmfao 😂😂😂😂
Thunder and lightning very very frightening Gallleylao Gallleylao la Figaro 😊
😂😂
Give it time and let the air circulation do its thing and it will probably be ok
Unfortunately all the other levels are blocked off, so w this little opening and the air in the first 100 ft being bad, don’t think we’ll chance it. We went in before, they blocked off the other levels(a year before) n the air was bad further back so we turned around..guess this one just doesn’t want to be explored lol
i’m actually an urban explorer from kansas city, missouri and it is a dream of mine to explore this place.
Lots of abandoned stuff in Kansas to explore? This was definitely a neat spot for sure and lots of history too!
@@AdventuresRUs there’s lots here but i’ve explored most. sad they are demolishing a lot of them here.
