My old primary school still had 2 of these Coombers in 2015. I remember seeing one of them on the shelf in 2015 when I revisited my old primary school as at the time that was where the summer fair was held. They also still had at least 1 2241 CD/cassette system. Back in 2007 I threatened to buy a 2241 directly from Coomber if my stereo system packed up because the majority of all in one stereos from the 2000s were tacky, cheaply made and the last ones to feature a cassette were garbage. At least the cassette mechinism in these Coombers is half decent and very easily replaced, other manufactureres of similar school/PA equipment also used this same cassette module such as DanSound, Tandberg, Barthe, systems produced exclusively for Hope Educational. As a matter of fact I thought Coombers were exclusive to The Consortium. Fortunately my LG stereo is still working apart from the CD player but I tend to rip CDs to my computer as I have Yamaha monitors.
