The International Network on Quantum Annealing (INQA) unifies the research activities of major global collaborations in quantum annealing in North America, Japan, the European Union and the United Kingdom.
By hosting weekly on-line seminars and annual international conferences and by funding exchange visits, the INQA network will address the key topics which will enable quantum annealing to move towards a true quantum scaling advantage over classical approaches to NP-hard computational problems.
The topics INQA will focus on include:
Exploiting quantum coherence
Extending the order and degree of qubit interactions
Strategies for error correction and
Exploiting diabaticity and non-stoquasticity in a systematic way

Title: Quantum Annealing with chaotic driver Hamiltonians
Abstract: In this talk, I present results on the effectiveness of including chaotic driver Hamiltonians in quantum annealing dynamics. Specifically, driver Hamiltonians based on a bosonic spin version of the Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev (SYK) model are considered, which features a high degree of non-locality and non-commutativity. Focusing on MaxCut instances on regular graphs, we find that a large proportion of SYK model instances demonstrate significant speedups, especially for challenging graph configurations. Additionally, our analysis of time-to-solution scalings for the low autocorrelation binary sequence (LABS) problem suggests that SYK-type fluctuations can outperform traditional transverse field annealing schedules in large-scale optimization tasks. Lastly, I comment on the feasibility of including non-local terms in the quantum dynamics through Trotterized time evolution.

Title: Penalty-Based and Constrained Quantum Annealing under Noise Abstract: Optimization problems with constraints are a critical focus in both classical and quantum computing. Penalty-based quantum annealing (PQA) is a widely used approach that transforms constrained problems into unconstrained ones by introducing penalties for constraint violations. In contrast, constrained quantum annealing...

Title: The path to scaling advantage for quantum annealers Abstract: For the current annealing devices, a quantum advantage can be found if one looks at the task of approximate optimization. Indeed, arXiv:2401.07184 discovered this quantum advantage in error-corrected approximate optimization. This was the first time a scaling advantage over a state-of-the-art classical solver was found for a D...

Title: Revisiting old combinatorial beasts in the quantum age, the Maximum Cardinality Matching Abstract: In the 1980s, as the Operations Research community evaluated the general effectiveness of the Simulated Annealing (SA) metaheuristic, Sasaki & Hajek introduced a series of instances of the Maximum Cardinality Matching problem, known as Gn. These instances are combinatorially complex and pro...

Title: Spin and Acoustic Wave based Ising Machines Abstract: Time-multiplexed Ising machines (IMs) [1] have been successfully demonstrated using phase-binarized coherent optical pulses in kilometer-long optical fibers [2]. While the time-multiplexed approach results in an all-to-all IM, circumventing the scaling and connectivity problem of planar IMs, they do not offer an easy route for miniatu...

I’m just considering this. But with two different vectors. Both should carry a shift in length. But the longer vector a complex topology
I expect CA and QA scaling to eventually match because of superdeterminism.
