Chime times do you ever plan on getting a new movement for the solar Because if you do just get a Howard Miller Dual chime movement

I've heard this at my local antique store They had one sitting on a shelf and I heard it chime when I was there It was not the model you're showing off, it was a different model seiko, but it had that movement

Nice find! I’ve heard that variant before, it sounds like it uses Seiko’s traditional crystal bell sound (not the ones on your anniversary clock, but the ones you’ll commonly hear on a Seiko melodies in motion clock.)

The hinge on my new haven Westminster is loose like yours Not a worry at all it’s not gonna fall out U can pull on it if u want. Wouldn’t recommend doing it hard but it’s not gonna fall out

That's a very nice grandfather clock. I'm impressed. Definitely sounds like Winchester at half past two. At 9:27, most of the time on Quartz battery powered clocks, the pendulum stops moving because the battery power level runs low; however, I'm not discounting the fact that I heard a little grinding with the pendulum against the woodwork inside that clock. When was the last time you changed the battery on that clock? Still, I always enjoy seeing clock videos, including those of grandfather clocks. I'm looking for one with a Hermle movement that has a different sounding chime than my Howard Miller Haverhill, which has a Kieninger movement. Speaking of those two, and you may realize this fact already, but when using a winding crank in the grandfather clock's winding arbors, when winding Hermle movements, the crank turns clockwise, and in Kieninger movements, the crank goes counterclockwise. And as you wind the grandfather clock, you'll see the pulleys move in that direction as the weights are raised. I hope this helps.

Hey that sounds just like mine!! Though mine doesn’t have a trigger at the half hour, that part is run by a timer that’s triggered at the hour point. Is it a rhythm movement?

Its a Hermle Movement most likely. I have 2 clocks with this chime and I heard it every 15 minutes.

We purchased a Ridgeway off of Marketplace, paid 300 and it’s valued at over $4,000 and has all the bells and whistles. We could never have justified spending that much for a clock, but the clock was purchased from a very wealthy couple and was taken care of. We are happy with what we found on line. You just have to keep looking and a treasure will fall to n your lap.

Awesome find! I'm likely gonna be getting one similar to this before long. That movement was also used in the westminster chime banjo clocks that they made

Very nice presentation and I'd like to say that the sound heard at the 1:21 mark is that of the "O Canada" horns from the Pan Pacific Hotel. Also, the chime melody, which begins at the 1:34 mark and precedes the striking of the hour is "Westminster" and there are actually words for it. They are as follows: Lord, through this hour, be Thou our guide. So, by Thy power, no foot shall slide.

Maybe try going closer to it next time?
