I’ve gotten into it a little more with the Grim prints tanks I have - but they are pre-prepared and it’s so easy to do with them. As for magnetising GW infantry - absolutely not! It’s just not worth the effort or time. I really don’t think many people put an appropriate monetary value on their time at all. I get gamers wanting to future proof their armies and kill teams but damn! Buy another box already! 🤣 thanks for watching brother 🙏

@@maddokminis oh 100%, if it’s already there and can be done easily then why not! But my favourite part of the hobby is the building and painting. I’ve not played a game since 2021 so I’m all for just cool stuff. So buying another box works out perfectly as I get back to doing what I enjoy the most about the hobby. Yes I do know what you mean 🙂 for my own part, I’m happy with them - I think a large part of that happiness comes from my fears that GW were going to completely mess them up upon re release 😅 Many of the original Rogue Trader era Termies were metal with heads already attached which would make removal very difficult! I think even the early plastics had heads pre moulded to torsos? I guess you could hack them off?! I believe it wasn’t until a bit further down the line that we had separate heads and by then they were morphing into the more modern version. I’m only working from about 30 years of memory in the hobby and could be totally wrong! Basically what I’m saying is that a conversion (whilst insanely cool) would be difficult methinks! @@maddokminisOh gosh no I don't mean (literally) defacing Rogue Trader era minis haha, just using the plastic heads from the immediately previous edition to these new ones. I still have all my metal Terminators that I bought back in the day including the very first Terminator Squad box of "Marines in Tactical Dreadnought Armour" that was my second ever 40K purchase after the Rogue Trader hardback rulebook back in the Dark Age of Technology, i.e. 1989. 😄 Sadly the price sticker on the Terminator Squad box is faded and lost to time but I remember I couldn't afford it AND the RT rulebook and I had to put the Terminators away on layby and pay it off each week with my pocket money. I was deathly afraid each time I went in to make a payment that the owner of the bookshop had put it back on the shelf or sold it out from under me as he sneeringly thought all these toy soldiers were "a bunch of silly nonsense". Well me and my collection of silly toy soldiers outlived him and his bookshop! 😂

@@maximusspqr Yes I get that, I spent the last 3 years trying to get 3D printing to look better than injection moulding so it’s a bit of an obsession and difficult habit to break. Model Railways is my day job, but 25 years ago I worked as a traditional sculptor on sci-fi commissions. I got short changed on a few jobs and pulled the lists. As your the man in the know (English expression for switched on) I wonder if I could put a few designs/ideas under your nose. I have a piece in build should be done middle of next week if you have some time to take a look.

I’m not sure I have the time in my video release schedule - but I have classic 2nd edition 90s Ork Stormboyz (the ones that look like ww2 Germans) I’d love to do that but as I said I might miss the window!! 😅 cheers mate 👍

It’s weird, I still love the old heroic scale boys but the newer ones have slowly been growing on me - they look more dainty next to Astartes which (for me personally) is entirely correct. More importantly I have had loads of fun swapping their heads with plastic historical kits as the new scale matches. I did this for my Praetorians which was much cheaper than getting loads of third party heroic style heads for the old Cadians. However, there are two major things I continue to miss from the older ones -1. They are more generic meaning you can more easily put your own style on them. 2. They are more modular (separate legs and torsos)TBH I am completely bored to death with Cadians and was glad the planet exploded! Bring back the old regiments from the metal guard days! @@maddokminis in the grim dark only space war - any one with a head that small would die instantly - the better the combat system the bigger its head - (nids and orcs) - only nips have tiny little heads on their gundams - epic scale heads for the win

Not at all - I think many people probably do! With the newer mark 3 helmet and pauldron design being inferior, I would definitely be tempted to get third party bits. Agreed! GW have very slowly made magnetising their minis more possible but it is nothing like as conveniently done as you will see on these Grim Prints vehicles!
