Winter Lights Express 2024
Over the weekend of the 8th-10th November 2024, we held our annual Winter Lights Express at Barnards Miniature Railway. The event allows our customers to enjoy a steam hauled train to Sitooterie Halt (from Burtonshaw Terminus) enjoying the sights of the lit-up sculptures along the way, including the likes of the Belvedere and Thomas Heatherwick's Sitooterie. This event is entirely pre-booked and only held towards the end of the season in November.
Please note, due to the nature of the attractions and the light display, there are flashing lights throughout the duration of the video.

Glen Dowd Branch Line Opening 2024

The Glen Dowd branch line is a single section of track between Belvedere and Lake End, which has been constructed in 2022-23, and opened officially as the 'Glen Dowd Branch Line' in 2024. Exmoor Gala 2024

Santa Specials 2023 - Day 1

Every year we host our Santa Specials. Passengers can enjoy being greeted by the controller in our barn, served with tea and cakes, before being escorted to their steam hauled service. Charity Open Day 2023

Barnards Miniature Railway was open in July 2023 along with the gardens being fully open to the public. The Barnards Farm cars, motorbikes, bicycles and even cycle shop was also open to the public. Great illumination! 0:36 - a lovely idea, a tree in green, another in orange, another in blue; the most important thing is the people aboard the train should see the illumination only and not the source of the light.

who owns these locos and are the engineers voluntary or employed by barnards?
Harrison Long most are owned by the railway but some are owned by volunteers or private owners who want a place to keep their loco

Matt Seymour it is narrow gauge, so it will look bigger than the actual gauge it. It is 7 1/4.
@@LittlewoodJunction Yes that's very true. But what I mean is some locos look bigger than others in the same gauge.
How much is it for a engine like this ?
Josh Edwards engines vary in price depending on what you get. If you gesture someone else to build it it will cost a lot more than doing it yourself. Engines that are steamers can be as little as £5000 to £40,000 for the bigger heavy haulers.
