First Time shave with The Shave Mercantile & Muhle R89 Twist
I had a fantastic shave on Rudolph's Christmas Night using a gingerbread-scented soap with sugar cookie notes and a bourbon shot. The soap lathered up beautifully, providing a great feel and impressive slickness. For this shave, I chose the Muhle R89 Twist razor. Sorry, I was mistaken about which razor it was. which weighs 90g. Its weight allows it to glide effortlessly across my face without applying any pressure. I used the Accuthrive blade for this shave, which was kindly provided to me by @OhioShaves. This combination of razor and blade resulted in an outstanding shaving experience.

Get ready for Thanksgiving by shaving with A&E and Timeless Razors. Enjoy a nice, smooth shave!
Переглядів 1329 годин тому
I had a pre-Thanksgiving shave using Arianna & Evans products and a Timeless Razor, which was fantastic. I chose the Arianna & Evans 60's Cologne soap, which brings a touch of nostalgia inspired by Brut. I used the Timeless Adjustable with a G5C Knot for my brush, which is definitely one of my go-to brushes-it never disappoints. The razor I used is the crown jewel of my collection: the Timeless...

Shaving off my Goatee for the first time in 15 yrs.
Переглядів 1 тис.Місяць тому
I can hardly believe that I shaved off my goatee. It's been quite some time since I've even seen my chin! The shave was excellent, thanks to the Rockwell T2 stainless steel razor paired with an Accuforge blade. You couldn't ask for a better combination of blade and razor. I used Bundubeard's On The Berg soap and balm for this shave, which has a fantastic scent. Check out the links below for the...

Sweater is crazy 😂. Looks like it was a good shave. Nice!
Oh it was a fun shave for sure. Thank you for watching.
Diggin’ that sweater Philip! Thanks for taking RCN for a spin. Glad it brought some Christmas to your shave.🎄🦌Ethan @ TSM
Ethan, it was a really nice shave with great slickness. Thank you for watching!
I purchased that soap a few days ago. I have not received it yet but I look forward to using it. Thanks for the recommendation.
Hope you like it! Thanks for watching.
Great shave. Have a great and happy Thanksgiving.
Thanks, you too!
Great video! Have a happy Thanksgiving
Thank you very much, sir. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Merica. I remember that Great Razor. Great Video
Peter is one of wet shavings best resources. He makes as good or better shaving soaps and splashes than anyone in the industry and is one of the nicest people in our hobby. The only question is if puck lathering is in what do I do with my amazing Sharpe Shaver lather bowls now? 🤣
Kevin, I found it harder to lather his creams in a lather bowl. However that is just me. Now his soaps that I own to the shave bowl they go. I totally agree Pete is a stellar guy.
@@Sharpe-Shaver76 I actually do a hybrid lather. I load the bowl with soap, go in with a slightly damp brush then paint it on my face like I was puck gathering. Then add water to my brush and build a lather .That's for my face. After I take what's left in the bowl, add water and whip up the rest for my head. Best of both worlds IMHO. Cheers kind Sir.
I find Face lather work best for me as well. More time on your face = Glass like finish for me.
I like the Sharpe Shaver decor on the wall. Very nice.
Yeah it is pretty cool I purchased it off Amazon. Thanks for watching
Nice, the Durham is really fun too use! With the gaurd it’s very forgiving. Durham also made a few different more traditional style safety razors that use the same blades, those are fun too.
I might have to look into those. Thanks for watching.
Good shave even with the little knick.
Thank you, sir. Damn rookie mistake I knew better than to use pressure. Thank you for watching.
Great shave, Philip! The cut keeps it real😊
Thank you Sam I did a rookie mistake. I used too much pressure. Thank you for watching.
Nice shave.
Thanks, other than me cutting myself up. Thanks for watching.
Nice creamy goodness, have a great week.
It is pretty good soap. Thanks for watching
Nice lather!
This soap pops pretty well. Thanks for Watching.
Very nice, didn't take much at all
This soap lathers pretty good. Thanks for watching
Been wanting to do a full clean shave, but I’m to attached to the facial hair.
Lol, I totally understand. I just wanted to try something different. Thank you for watching.
Mully asked me to follow you. Gorgeous shaving bowls brother. I’ll likely be ordering one from you in the near future. Serious question: I'm new to wet shaving. If I get (any) stinging from the alum block, is that an indicator my technique is way off, or I need to try new razor blades right away?
Thanks for the follow Daniel I really appreciate it. As far as the sting after the shave. It could mean a lot of things it could be your blade could be too aggressive or you could be using the wrong angle. If you wanna message me on Instagram @sharpeshaver76 I can help out better there.
Great shave Phil! you'll be rockin a real blade soon I reckon!!
Yes, sir that is the plan and rocking my Brü brush all the way. Thanks for watching.
It took me a while to understand the razor hahaha more time than I’m comfortable saying
Oh, trust me I know you noticed in the video I was fumbling with the right angle with the handle. Thank you for watching.
@ Thanks for sharing! Interesting razor I had never seen one like this before
@@seanstapelfeld You bet
what does it smell like?
It is an homage to Louis Vuitton L'Immensité
I have not seen a razor like that interesting. Congratulations on the upcoming product release.
Yeah, I am going to get some of the thinner blades and try it again. Thanks for watching.
You rocked it! I told you it’s a bit weird to manipulate, but it’s so fun to use. Second shave on that blade should be less harsh. Awesome soap as well!! Looking forward to the release
Oh for sure It was pretty fun to shave with. Thank you for watching
Nice shave, you made it look easy, I'll look into one of those .
Oh, it was super fun to shave with. Thanks for watching.
You guys are blessed to be able to try so many different products! Nice review! I know they say happy wife happy life but nothing beats a clean shave unless you are like me and have to hide a little turkey neck😂 ive never used a strait razor im a saftey razor guy all the way. How would you say your outlander stands up to a rockwell 6s?Yeah the alum block is a must! Ariana and Evan's is a great company. Love all the soaps and spashes i have tried from them. Nice video! Hope you have a great week
Bryan was fun to shave with for sure. As far as the Overlander is a great shave I can't answer your question on how it stands with the 6s I have never used a 6s. Thank you for watching.
Nice razor
This was alot of fun.
Interesting looking straight razor. I have to say I have never liked training wheels. When I was a kid my grandpa just pushed me off and said go go go!😂 I'm sure it won't be bad tho. The overlander looks nice!
It was a fun shave for sure. Thanks for watching
Fantastic labels , great looking brush , I love the sound of the balm being more solid
Yeah On The Berg is a great scent and paired with a solid balm it is a great combo. Thanks fo watching.
Shannons is a nice soap, I have Iberia a great scent , beautiful razor
I have never tried that scent. The razor was a gift from some of the guys in the community. Thank you for watching
I spent three months convincing Mike to buy the Overlander, you had to know you were next 😂! The enabler party continues 🎉😂🎉!
You and Mike are a-holes for enabling me to use this razor. However, it is one of the best razors I have ever shaved with. Thank you for watching.
So what was the wife's reaction? The day I first shaved my head my wife screamed and then yelled that I looked like a cancer patient. Isn't love grand?
Well, Kevin, let's just say she didn't talk to me for about 5 or 6 hours and said, "I can't believe you did that." Thanks for watching.
That’s a cool brush.
Thanks, Daniel I really like the Bru brushes. I can't wait to see what he releases next spring. Thank you for watching.
Hi Phil, I'll be shaving every other day as usual in Nov. I hate the nubs!
Kevin, I like to shave every other day. However, I am often too busy to do so. Thanks for watching.
First Shannon's soap and splash I've ever used..love it!
It's so good!
I knew I'd talk you into it someday 😅😂 looking good
Lol, you are crazy sir. Thanks for watching.
you should try shaving with shorter strokes and applying less pressure, to be more gentle on your face. less likely to cause cuts and irritation
Thank you for the advice, really the only reason I cut myself on the video is because I haven't shave my chin in over 15+Years. Thank you for watching.
Bet you miss it SS! But glad you kept the moustache, looks good on it's own.
Well, Thank you for the kind words. Thanks for watching.
@@Sharpe-Shaver76 👍
Great shave! It’s been years since I’ve shaved off my gotee. I don’t think my wife would go for it 😂
Doug sometimes you just gotta man up and do it 😂 Trust me my wife hates it. Thanks for watching.
AccuForge blades are wonderful. Thanks for doing these videos. I always learn something new when watching videos on shaving. I may not be a step change in technique but a minor adjustment. I will say that it appeared that the wording on the items was backwards - as though you were looking into a mirror to read. Not a major issue, IMO. I have two of the Bundabeard soaps and aftershave balms. I really enjoy the balm with the Mr. Mijagi application. It is more soothing IMO. Keep up the great work.
Yeah, I realized that after I finished editing it. Thank you for watching.
Great shave! You could always grow the goatee back if you miss it!
Great shave Brother good to do the full shave once in a while. Those accu forge blades are really good
It was a good shave. Accuforge is one of my favorites. Thanks for watching.
The Manscape was my first razor too. I still find it provides a smooth shave. Have you tried personna or filoso blades? I find them (like others say). The smoothest most comfortable blades produced! Paraso is one of my favorite soaps and balms.
My first shave with it was a blood bath for sure. Yes, I have tried both of those blade brands. They are pretty good blades. I actually carry Filoso blades on my website. Thank you for watching.
Nice shave! Love the brush!
Thank you that scent is amazing. Your right True Til Death makes an awesome brushes. Thank you for watching.
You had me at "tallow"!
I think this artisan will put out some great stuff. Thanks for watching
Gonna try my sample this weekend.
It is terrific. Thanks for tuning in.
Nice shave and a great looking brush. Is that a high mountain white knot?
That is a G7 Knot. Thanks for watching.
Watched this video in full a minute ago but yt wouldn't let me comment. Im not into pumpkin or light aluminum razors.. i also face lather but brother you rocked it. You make it look easy. Your videos are getting better and better. Keep it up bro!! I also love the balms with some Thayers to spread it even that you gifted me by the way. Leaves me feeling silky smooth!! I love it!
Thank you very much for the compliment Bryan it's a whole new world for me on this platform.
Doug whips up a nice soap. Can't wait to see what he comes out with.
Yes, sir, it builds a great lather. Thank you for watching
Such a great soap! That base is incredible! The wet shaving masses just have no idea what is in store for them!
I think it will be a tough one to beat.
Great shave! Love that brush!
It is definitely one of my top ones it is a beauty.
