EILEEN FARRELL SHOW 1946 3 SONGS
Eileen Farrell (February 13, 1920 - March 23, 2002) was an American soprano who had a nearly 60-year-long career performing both classical and popular music in concerts, theatres, on radio and television, and on disc. NPR noted, "She possessed one of the largest and most radiant operatic voices of the 20th century."[1] While she was active as an opera singer, her concert engagements far outnumbered her theatrical appearances. Her career was mainly based in the United States, although she did perform internationally. The Daily Telegraph stated that she "was one of the finest American sopranos of the 20th century; she had a voice of magnificent proportions which she used with both acumen and artistry in a wide variety of roles."

Great tenor. RIP.
Excellent, one of Jussi's greatest radio concerts.
This HAS to be a Kalmar-Ruby song. No wonder Groucho loved it so much
A beautiful song , sung here with great feeling. Thank you Marjorie...RIP my dear.
Magnífico!!!
Originally released in March 1937. In the 1936-'37 season, Chevrolet sponsored a Sunday night program on CBS [6:30pm(et)] featuring Rubinoff and hs orchestra, with Jan Peerce and Virginia Rea as featured vocalists. The announcer was Westbrook Van Voorhis, as "Hugh Conrad" (because he was under an exclusive contract to appear on "THE MARCH OF TIME", he had to use an alias on the Chevrolet program).
Cool
Delightful! And formidable… 🌹⭐️🌹 Thank you for sharing Frank Titterton‘s wonderful recordings! 🙏🍀 Such a charming and pleasant voice… 🌟
A charming voice and an inspiring performance… ⭐️🌹⭐️ Thank you for the lovely post! 🙏🍀
Thanks a lot 🙏 for bringing back Frank Titterton‘s voice and artistry! ✨✨✨
America’s first peacetime Thanksgiving.
Rare vintage gem.....BRAVO from Acapulco!
This is a little treasure to hear: I've long had a soft spot for Mr. Buchanan. I hope that perhaps Past Perfect or some similar entity can get around to taking their best shot at restoring this medley, if not the whole broadcast.
What a shame this doesn't have more views ❤
Im an American , here from the TV show Dads Army , because they played this in an episode , nice song
Спасибо... Великолепный тенор... Душа поёт...
Уж извините, не Корелли. Все равно спасибо.

Hello, I'm doing a work in Gershwin, and I would like to know where can I find this and other radio material to use (I just need a few seconds of the audio) . I would like to know if this material is available to use without infringing copyright.
Maravilla de maravillas la voz del joven Di Stefano, la voz de tenor más bella del siglo XX.
Спасибо... Роберт Меррилл - национальная гордость США!!!
Best american baritone I've ever heard in my life ❤
Brilliant!
I remember this beautiful melody… from a German version of the song, I think… It‘s so lovely! The lyrics are too… ✨✨✨ A wonderful post! Thank you very much! 🙏🍀
Fascinating coloraturas… ✨✨✨ Thank you for the great post! 🙏🍀
Glad you enjoyed it
@ 🙏🙏🙏
Superb singer, great vocals, beautiful song… ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you for sharing Amelita Galli-Curci‘s excellent recordings! 🙏🍀
Wonderful !
And in German…! Exquisite! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I can‘t detect any accent at all, and the composition and vocals are superb… 🌟 Thank you for the beautiful post! 🙏🍀
Absolutely fantastic… I love the song and the artist… ✨✨✨ The sound of the recording is a bit problematic, but cannot take the splendor of Rosa Ponselle‘s exquisite vocals… 🌟 Thanks for sharing! 🙏🍀
Such beautiful singing!
One of my favorite baritones, I love his voice… and he obviously put his heart and soul into the song… ✨✨✨ Thank you for the great post! 🙏🍀
Gorin sings Romberg… double joy for me! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thanks for sharing! 🙏🍀
Красивый голос, красивый еврей, красиво поёт!!!
This Ponselle recording is fun to hear! She always sings well - though the tempos here are a bit fast that she took , not giving a true scope into the total actual beauty of the music! Ponselle was a truly great soprano, - don’t get me wrong here - Toscanini called her a “miracle “ voice! Enough said!
One of my favorite songs that The Great Kate sang! She could sing any type of song!
I know this isn't here usual rep, but...I actually like this interpretation more than the more common "super dark Russian mezzo" take. In this aria, Joan of Arc is a teenager about to embark on a quest, but it's sung in a way that would make you think they're singing "Suicidio" or "Deh non Volerli Vitteme". Meanwhile, Traubel captures the sweet youthfulness, the longing nostalgia and the solemn heroism better than other singers trying to go for maximum drama and expression.
Have recently discovered this famous tenor.Have seen him in a couple of films.
прекрасный баритон...
I think Paris, France etc fell in 1940, not liberated. D-Day and the liberation of Paris would wait until 1944. So much in between. Pons did become a naturalized USA citizen in 1940. In the 1940 production of le Fille du Regiment, Pons did arrange a deviation from the Donizetti music and squeezed in a few bars of the Marseilleise for a nice finale, considering.
Who are the other singers please Danny?
I have no idea of the names for the other singers it is an usual choice for tibbett to sing schuberts song in this way. he did record this for victor records
Poor Josef
Lovely! Lovely! Kate's great gift of singing lets us feel all the emotions of the song's lyrics. I have a CD compilation with this song included. The song to me has a tropical feeling to the music. Seems different than the songs that she usually sings. She sang this 81 years ago in my birth year! Her wonderful singing never seems to become outdated. Always fresh, honest, and beautiful just as Kate lived!
not John Boles but Ramon Novarro....both equally forgotten?..
FANTASTISCH❤❤❤
Thank for posting this he was 62 years of age and not in the best of health.
One of my all-time favourite baritone arias… It‘s indeed a prayer, and it never fails to touch and move me… ✨✨✨ Thank you for sharing this wonderful recording! 🙏🍀
