Don't listen to these delusionary pastors! Christianity, like ALL man conceived and written religions, are nothing more than cults. The ONLY useful function they provide is aiding the poor via charities, which is commendable. ALL religious books, tomes, manuscripts, etc. were conceived of, and written down by flawed mortal men, not some 'pie in the sky' deity or god! Men have ALWAYS had their own agendas, prejudices, obsessive thoughts, etc., which makes all religions highly flawed. Just look at all the religious hypocrites today.... the one's that want to ban books, control you, damn you to 'hell' (a mythical place), judge you, etc. etc. etc. ad nauseum! Ethics and morality are not reliant or predicated upon religion, but innate in most human beings. It is human nature to be empathetic and to want to help others. We have learned this via family and tribes over the centuries. Lastly, do you know why most people refer to 'god' as a 'HE'? Because historically, cultures have been paternalistic, run by men! Please read 'The God Delusion' by Richard Dawkins, or 'God Is Not Great' by Christopher Hitchens. These are great, edifying, eye opening books based on logic and sensible conclusions.
