Переглядів 102 місяці тому

This is why it is extremely important for caregivers to plan time for themselves and for calming their mental state. Sometimes it just takes a matter of seconds, or minutes to bring back the mindset of calm and spreading that calm...

How Can LTC Insurance Benefits Help Caregivers?
Переглядів 2632 місяці тому
A large part of what makes caregiving so difficult is the financial burden that is required. Not only are most caregivers forced to work less, or to not work at all, but they also end up spending their own money on caregiving needs. This predicament not only makes survival a challenge, but it also adds a tremendous amount of stress to an already stressful situation. Kelly Augspurger spoke to Sa...

Nope, my mother will never pay me!!! And not pay for someone else. Expects free care!
Later this year I will be converting over to medicare (August 15 65th birthday). Can I still contribute the full 4300 + 1000 = 5300, or do I have to pro-rate my contribution to only the months I'm on my private insurance? Ex: (4300 * 7/12) + 1000 = 3508
The term Long Care is confusing. Does it mean health care only. Or does it mean house keeping chores, laundry, floor washing, for example, things a healthy but 100 percent service connected disabled veteran can no longer do?
The term Long Care is confusing. Does it mean health care only? or does it mean work assistance?
Well done!
Thank you so much for this information!!
Are these credits per month or per year? I mean, $500 a year is nice and all but compared to the cost of caring for someone 365 it's a bit of a joke...
Deniable. Absolutely deniable, especially for Islam.
In uk mom or dad gets paid as child career if they are in full time care. But its peanut !!
My mother is working at Publix. 18 operations and having knee replacement coming up. She will be out of work. I take care of the house her car and her trips to Dr. and cook clean a whatever. She need the job or we will be sunk. She sits down at this job. Will that affect this if I want to do it ?
I have to give up my income to care for my husband. Why can't I get paid? This is crazy. So I am forced to let strangers into my home!
I think we need to make this available more easily. I'm taking care of an aging parent and not getting paid, because the other parent is still working full time. Yet I wouldn't be able to convince the parent who is working to pay me for this care, nor will the government. I take the parent to all their appointments, and provide 24/hour care. I've tried doing Instacart, and rushing back home, but that's hit and miss with any job being available or even to provide any income. I need to find an online job that can provide but they are either hard to find, or I am not skilled for the job, or too many hours needed in a row, etc.
So immediately most of the people are excluded. That sounds like a democratic plan to me. It's too bad we live in a republic.
When you and your spouse can make over $70,000 a year. That's when it makes sense.
It pays way to damn low..these people gotta pay bills and survive to
if my 87-year-old dad gets worse next year, I cannot take care of him
im looking for assistance with my mom she has alzheimer's and i can't work like i need to plus watch her... she has medicaid..we are in alabama
I'm here to help with a trustworthy free evaluation of your policy. Contact info in my channel description :)
I still don't get how just like this job where the person chooses who will care for them also the SSI payees or ( Tutor's) don't get paid is a job every month pay and take a person to the office and every year fill out form and if payee also receive the same benefits and don't answer the other person immediately they hold your check not theirs when they don't even pay you is not a every day thing but they don't pay anything a all . Social security can use the same offices because as a 2 or 3 days caregivers and they can make money too for monitoring SSI recipients
Clear as mud. Thumbs down.
I dont think its not fair for the spouse not to get paid! I have a caregiver that is scheduled to work for 37 hours and she calls off half the time! I still work a f/t job but i get stressed knowing that my spouse is left alone alot because his caregiver calls off! I dont have a friend or relative that can care forhim so I rely on an agency.🫤 I guess the only step i could take is trying to find some work at home job.
I am. 100 on aa SMC.in a nursing home and the va said i can't do that i hade to pay back 5,000
Thank you for this video… I recently lost my grandmother. I was her primary caregiver for the last 10 years…. She added me to be a beneficiary, also to leave the property to my nephew by putting the property in a trust….. the problem is her two sons (my father and uncle) before she died they assured me multiple times that we had nothing to worry about. Now she has passed, they are running interference. I don’t want to sue but I don’t know exactly what to do!
You ladies I am 100 per cent, served while Vietnam. My paperwork has been in to the VA for at least three months. II am I. A assistant living place. Need help bathing, eating and transportation. Can you help me.
Who can pay $ 7000 per months ????
I consider this a conflict of interest since I PERSONALLY WITNESSED PEOPLE NEGLECTING their own mothers and they died. The state did nothing.
Yet the same can happen in a long term facility as well. The difference is the professionals get paid to neglect, and family members get paid nothing for helping their loved ones. The bare minimum gets done for long term and so the potential for continual decline is great, where as family actually can encourage more strength training and intellicual pursuits with the loved one.
She huh!
Keep good going!
thanks

Contact your local government, and learn what your options are.
My mom just has her regular insurance through Humana and then she has Medicare, can I still get paid to take care of her? She lives only on SS, which isn’t much for her at all, and she’s struggling to pay her bills, she lives in her own home. I drive over after work everyday to help care for her.
Look into seeing if she qualifies for Medicaid. My dad only has his monthly SS payment too and he recently qualified. Also, look into if your county has an office for the Aging or some similar dept. I didn't know that was a thing until a coworker told me. I was able to call that office up (after a quick Google search) and they helped me get my dad into an adult day center a few days/week and fill out the application for Medicaid, which has led to applying for long term managed care in the home. There ARE resources out there but we don't know how to access them unfortunately. I wish you luck!
Only if they qualify for medicaid. My gma i care for owns a house and a car. She doesnt qualify. And lives down to the dollar. Every month
What about minors? Primary caregivers are SAHM also
So we applied for the 24 7 pension and Aid and attendance benefits about 9 months ago a very long process for my elderly almost 99 yr old mother. My later father was a WWII veteran honorable discharge and passed away almost 20 years ago. My mother owns her home, has very limited income a couple of small credit unions and is paying off her funeral expenses. I received her letter of eligibility and disappointed to see that she only qualifies for 47 .00 per month which is nothing! My mother is 98 yrs of age. She is needing help 24 7 in her home until we are able to secure a full time nursing facility . How can we get the authorization for aid and attendance in her home as she is needing this asp and cannot afford this with her current social security and now VA pension of 47.00 per month. Please advise.
You mentioned paying family caregivers by 1099. Is this ok vs w2?
You’ll have to hire an attorney if you ever expect to get a payout from FEGLI. These people are iodiots!! Not sure who ties their shoes-but FEGLI & OPM are the most incompetent and untrustworthy people!!
I Have an 81 year old father with Parkinson's and other medical complications. ATM I'm his live in aide and on the lease. He visits his elderly gf frequently that's used him for decades and HELPS HER at a detriment to himself. I work HAVE to work my own job and it's been a huge tug o war juggling act. When my dads home he comes apart at the seams and it's getting much worse. I can't stop him from visiting his gf and am regularly giving him rides. My poor dad does way too much for her and she's always kept me away from their time together. Whenever I bring up compensation he acts as if we don't qualify. It's truly like something out of a twilight zone episode. My brother passed 5 years ago and isn't around to help share responsibility of our father. What I do for my dad is cook when we don't order, clean, help him use devices, joined store runs, med/grocery deliveries and much more. He pays gas for rides and sometimes I say not to worry about it. Whenever he's at his gf's though he's mostly on his own and I think he's ultimately trying to escape the aging process. It's the many little things he needs help with that is a chore in itself. Very forgetful when he can't use his phone he gets "pissed off" and it's always the devices fault. In the same fashion he's very frequently making small errors and getting clustered over every little tiny blender. Just today I brought up the idea of compensation again because we've been talking about it. He got all defensive and turned it into an argument. His keyword and argument seems to be qualify. But at this point I think we more than qualify and he just doesn't want to give up a sliver of control. I'm wondering if this situation has happened to anyone else? I'm sleeping on a couch feel extremely spread thin when I can be compensated and help both my dad and his girlfriend two birds with one stone. Which I'm already doing but all I want is to help them in a bigger way because they are both battling the aging process. Sometimes it feels like I'm being brought to a breaking point. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated thank you
It is so helpful
Excellent explanation
Trying to find a program In Georgia to be able to be a caregiver for my mom who has Dimentia and a real bad spine that impacts her mobility
Have you looked into private home care agencies? You could also look into this:aging.georgia.gov/programs-and-services/home-community-based-services/caregiver-programs
@@SteadfastInsuranceAgencyI did, past 3 interviews and now DCAF is taken so very long..over months now and counting
You need to dumb it down a bit. Then again...i guess you want people to call.
My wife has chronic kidney disease. What can I do?
We suggest you first check with your wife's health insurance company. Then look at your state's human services division on aging services and see if they have any programs available.
How do i determine the amount to be paid for a group life insurance policy
Contact your employer's HR department or if you have a copy of the policy, look at the policy and see what the death benefit amount is.
I’m currently on disability. I have 30 days to convert my group term life insurance. Should I do it? Will it have cash value?
My child is 4 years old autistic I live in Virginia and trying to be his caregiver
Carlsbad California $10,000 on up for a one bedroom one bath. Buy long term insurance in your 50’s. Don’t count on family or the government. They won’t be there.
Don't most LTCs have a 90 day waiting period before benefit starts? By then, it might be too late.
Many LTC policies have 90 day elimination periods, but it just depends on the policy. During that time period, care would need to be self-funded.
Thank you.
