Not trying to be rude but I just was thinking that normally in volleyball you wear short shorts I was just wondering if there was a specific reason yall were wearing long skirts

I tore my acl and meniscus playing soccer in a espn tournament. The ball came to me, my right leg kicked and the left leg that stabilized it collapsed on the ground causing instant pain. At first we thought nothing was wrong until after a couple of weeks, it still felt like something was slightly off. We went for an Mri and I ended up needing surgery using my patellar tendon because the acl was shredded laying down and meniscus was torn with posterior horn and root and they were able to sew it up in order for it to heal. I'm about 2 months in and making progress, I still have a long way to go, but I hope I reach my goal eventually. It was really emotional and upsetting, but I can learn from it so hopefully this will not happen in the future. I wish the best on your recovery

i have a really similar story! i tore my left ACL in taekwondo right before my junior year of high school (aug 10, 2015). i tried to kick a tall bag and my left leg never came off the ground. i collapsed and was told to walk it off and come back in later. i never came back into the class...instead called my dad because i couldn't walk. a week later it was feeling fine but my mom encouraged me to get an MRI. the doctor told me i had torn my acl and had also potentially broke my kneecap and that wouldn't be able to march in marching band that year and i was devastated. luckily the surgeon cleared me as long as i did PT. i marched the entire season (sept-nov) with a torn acl. then got surgery nov 24, 2015. i tried to go back to TKD a year later but decided against it b/c i really wanted to do college marching band and couldn't risk another injury. the recovery after surgery was the WORST part of the entire experience...my god i have never felt pain worse than the PT person trying to move my leg the day after my surgery!! best of luck on your recovery-- you will get there!!
