This was my one and only year marching drum corps in 94 with my Blue Devils. Upper lead soprano for life!!!….and although I love drum corps and might not agree with all the changes that have happed with in DCI and what it’s evolved to today, I’m just glad that there is still an outlet be it different from my generation, to show and express their incredible talents at such a high level. Blue Devil for life.

Even basic stuff like starting together, check patterns, rolls etc. sounded really dirty from the quads in the first half of the video. Off day, weird audio angle, or something else at play?

i'm not gonna say the college group did bad (cause most non-DCI lines don't measure up well to the literal blue devils) but you can definitely tell they are more loose with their discipline. Just the posture alone gives it away

i'm in nitpick city with this but been wondering why Randall May didn't hook them up with black shoulder carriers, thought these silver aluminum shoulders were Mapex exclusive. then again Pulse also uses these with their Yamahas. SoCal shortage perhaps? point being it's unsightly when there's that much of a stark contrast with the unis (very noticeable last season), might have a slight impact on the visual score when these things are boiled down to tenths, even hundredths of a point.
