Thank you very much for all the time and effort you put into this commentary, Bryn. I have been reading through the Bible since I started walking with the Lord in early 1981 but felt like doing something completely different in 2024 and, on your recommendation in Church, set myself the challenge of reading through the Bible in a year, which I hadn’t done before. It required discipline but I’m so glad I did it. I enjoyed hearing you explaining everything, instead of reading Bible notes and commentaries myself. It has been enriching. Thank you so much - and well done! 👏 11:11

What a rich and worthwhile journey. Outstanding 👏
And now time for a big sleep 😁
We made it!!!
Great work team!
Awesome 👌
Thanks 🤗
Thank you for explaining this
Me pleasure. There are obviously lots of other interpretations out there, but this is the one I find most compelling at the moment
I gotta watch this again
Haha, Revelation is deep. It took me a long time to get my head round
Well done brother👏
Thanks man
Such a dope undertaking 🙌
I think I might want to sleep for a few days now 😂
@@brynjoslin Well deserved 😂

Man, I found your videos because I was just gifted logos by a member of my church. I was overwhelmed by the capacity of the software. God is calling me to new areas and I want to be faithful. I struggle to manipulate technology to do what I need in ways I can with physical tools. I looked to youtube for some instruction and found your video with Logos. I have been going through James one verse at a time. I am so impressed by your video series going through the entire bible! I was so encouraged by your video with logos and how you have utilized the software in so many ways! Keep up the great work. God is using you in awesome ways. Keep serving!
Wow, thanks for the kind words! It means a lot. Logos is a lot, so take it one feature at a time. Focus on the new Factbook first as you can do most things in that. Then move to something like the passage guide, and try out all the different tabs in that. Then go for the word study guide. Once you’ve mastered those 3 you have the basics and then it’s just watching other people use Logos and see what other features you can benefit from
@brynjoslin thanks for the advice! I appreciate it.
Incredible stuff. Binging your videos now 😅 glad to have come across your work! 🙌
Thanks man, seriously appreciate it. I’ve got a handful more to go and then I’ve down the whole Bible
@ legend. Congrats!
I love the 2nd tip to continue the day you start back. I've done that before and just stopped because I couldn't catch up. Thanks brother.
Yeah, it seems to me the most important thing with a daily Bible reading habit is momentum. Trying to remove anything that slows down that sense of momentum helps
Are you going to start a fresh series in 2025, or will this be the daily reading? I want to start Jan 1 and really wouldn't mind going over this series but if you were planning to start a new one live, I'll wait for that.
This will be the same series, though I do plan on re-recording the first few as the original quality was poor. I also have an email list that sends out that days reading, so it might be easier to join in 1st January and sign up to the email list and then you are in sync and don’t have to remember what day you’re on or dig around to to find the right video.
I love your video's and thank you for keeping them short. I tend to lose concentration after a few minutes so I can watch them in intervals. I also found you from the interview with Jason on Logos!
Thanks man, glad you like them!
I would love to se more videos about Logos from a bible nerd
Thanks man! I’m fully swamped with the Bible in a Year videos I’m doing at the moment, but I might try to set aside some more time to release logos based videos next year
@@brynjoslin No pressure, take it easy.
Bryn can believers still be under the curse of the law because they haven't appropriated the promise. Like salvation we have to believe and have faith? Or is it a one off issue when saved. Thanks
I would argue the curse of the law is something we take on whenever we look to the law as the thing we build our faith on, rather than Jesus. I don’t think it’s a salvation issue but do think we limit the promise and the power of a Jesus in our lives when we rely on it
Excited to study Romans! Thanks for the daily videos 😁
We’re into the letters! Bit by bit we’re chunking through the Bible. Before long we’ll be in Revelation and then all wrapped up 😁
@@brynjoslin can’t quite believe how quick it’s been!
This should cause all in the ⛪️ to examine their lifestyle, not casually call or speak God’s Name void of intimacy to get worldly applause!
Do it all for the audience of 1 🙌
I also managed to get the date wrong in this recording. I should have said 30th September 🤦♂
Stay blessed 🙌🏼 It's an anointed elaboration 👍🏼
Thanks! I really appreciate it
🙌🏾🔥
Thanks for unpicking the Old Testament , Bryn
We did it! New Testament here we come
I love this Bryn I am really late to this so hope I can still join I've signed up to the newsletter and eager to start. I want to read the bible throughout something I've never done and completely understand what is being said to me because what I tend to do is exactly what you said in your video read not understand read next day understand even less and then I give up so I am praying this will unlock the challenges I face and guide me through to know grow and understand the bible as I should Amen
Welcome to the gang! 😁 the newsletter will give you emails with where we’re at now, which is in the middle of 1 Chronicles. On 22nd August we’re starting the New Testament. The plan is also to keep the emails going next year as well just looping through again so you can pick it up now and then next year read through the Old Testament
Comment to boost you in the algorithm. Good job on your mission, brother. I'm thinking of maybe starting a Christian channel myself.
Thank you so much! I appreciate it. As for the UA-cam channel my top tip is make videos that in researching/preparing for it helps you in your faith. That way you grow as a Christian, and any views/subscribers can be considered a bonus
you randomly appeared in my feed! be blessed!
I’m blessed that you found this video and enjoyed it. I hope it and the other help you better understand your Bible
Another prophet done 😀
And not the easiest one 😮💨 it’s all uphill from here 😂
❤thank you Bryn
My pleasure. Loving hearing how much people are getting out of these videos
continuos
Here one view for you👍
Thanks! I seriously appreciate. Just here trying to help people better understand their Bible and enjoy reading it
reading about all of Jeremiah's tribulations, you wonder if God wrote a job description for a prophet, if anyone would apply . I mean, although a tax collector would be equally despised, at least they would have protection from authorities, a decent wage, and maybe a dental plan. what benefits do the prophets get?
You can definitely appreciate why Jeremiah wrestles with God asking why he’s got to do this
I love the comments about not minimizing suffering and how accepting our problems exalts God more by acknowledging that he is greater.
Psalms? Completed it mate 🤷🏻♂️
On a more serious note, appreciate today’s breakdown!
Psalms. I know her. It’s funny going through the psalms a second time and going, “oh that’s some good stuff” as though I’m not just reading stuff I wrote before 😂
My favorite part of Psalm 146 is "Put not your trust in princes,/in mortal man, who cannot save./When his spirit departs, he returns to the ground;/on that very day his plans perish."
A good reminder to us not put all our trust in leaders who can fail, when we can put our trust in God who doesn't
Hey bryn, i would like to edit for you. I am a video editor
Hey, thanks for the offer. I'm not looking for an editor at the moment. But if the UA-cam channel picks up and I start doing longer videos I might look into it
Wisdom in unpacking wisdom. I like the idea of picking a chapter a day
I wonder how much misfortune we place upon someone’s own actions - I’ve definitely done this but the last few days are a reminder that I shouldn’t be so quick to make assumptions. I hope that I can be someone who stands firm in faith with those who are going through rough times instead of making the assumption that it’s something to do with them🤔
❤😊
❤😊thank you, Bryn
My pleasure. Great to hear you’re finding these useful
I read I in less than a year sometimes too slow not ok so i alternate i read all then slowly also and of course referance and double checking . I think i did it that way because eading it thos slow doesnt hrlp with big picture .i find i po der then go back deeper and deeper when i go back over smaller parts.im slow readerbut theres do much else like timelines id like to know.at moment im having difficulty reading bible at all, psalms a e one my favourites and proverbs.since was injured with neuroleptics by wicked dr im having difficulty i vould remember bible after just once before too i think its very true that the Holy Spirit springs scripture to mind,im thinking thats what it was.im not satified i understand it enough.i just gotten grips with what worldly things were etc.i had no clue who these false gods were etc .
I'm sorry to hear about your injury. That's tough, particularly if it's impacting your ability to read the Bible. My best trick to understanding the Big picture is to always try to root what you've read each day into the wider narrative of the book. That's what I try and do with the recap in these videos. Another great tool is the BibleProject overview videos and posters. I tend to have one of those at hand so when I'm reading a passage I can always see where we are in the story. I also think part of it is recognising this is a lifetime journey. We spend our whole lives reading and slowly, little by little, building upon our understanding. I'm rooting for you and glad to have you on this journey as we work through the Bible in a year
Isaiah is such a fascinating book, looking forward to getting stuck in!
Appreciate your insights! Ready to start the next book!
Hey Bryn, Still really enjoying your Bible in a year stuff. Today found your comments on the Moabite human sacrifice seeming to appease God's wrath really helpful. Always found that verse hard to make sense of. Also, any thoughts on the significance of Elijah retracing Israel's steps on his journey?
Thanks Jonah! It means a lot. I think there are a couple of things to it. Firstly, by being a subtle nod to that journey the Israelites made many hundreds of years before it causes the reader to stop and think about how far Israel has come (or fallen) in that time. So in that sense it serves as a meditative prompt to the reader. In perhaps a second sense, by Elijah travelling to the other side of the Jordan before handing over to Elisha, it means that Elisha has to recross the Jordan to go back into Israel. So Elisha then represents a new start into the land for the people. At the place Moses handed authority over to Joshua, Elijah is now passing authority to Elisha.
there is a phenomenon called " the Solomon paradox." People can give sound counsel to others , by being detached and engaging the rational mind, but find it difficult to apply the same wisdom to their own lives.
What Biblical aproach is this: Catholic, protestant, Orthodox? What Bible is being used? Thank you.
I don’t really have a particular denominational approach. I come from a Pentecostal background so that will influence my reading a bit but I’m more interested in trying to let the Bible speak for itself. My go to Bible is the ESV but I also use the NIV, NLT, and original Hebrew and Greek
I always thought all good things come from God , and anything evil was from Satan. But here it says an evil spirit was sent by God to torment Saul. I thought God loathed evil ?
Saul always comes across as impulsive with poor emotional regulation. it makes you wonder what his upbringing was like? The bible never mentions his mother. It is clear throughout the bible and life that we are not all born with the same 'hand of cards'. Do you think God takes this into consideration on judgment day? or are we all judged by the same standard , as in a court of law?
Another day, another book!
Reading a whole book in one day ain’t too bad 😂
Really enjoyed this. Keep doing the Lord's work, brother.
Thanks! Appreciate it
We’re in it for the long run not for short term gains. Thanks for dissecting this one Bryn 👍🏿
Thanks Rasheed!
