What size of dowels do I need?

I know most if not all of the comments are from 2-3 years ago, but all of these cutouts for the lantern can be done on a cricut, and use glitter vinyl as well. So much easier. I'm not sure if this tutorial was geared towards those who don't have/use a cricut. Also, walmart always has glass lanterns and I often find them on sale and place my vinyl on those and they have a bottom to place a flickering candle light inside. Just an fyi.

I made the Oogie boogie gift bags and they were out out for trick or treaters and I filled them with candy!!!
