White Christmas
This was kind of a rush job, but don't let that fool you...it probably wouldn't be much better if I wasn't in a hurry. No one starts out great, though. I have to practice to get better.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, everyone!
(I if you haven't watched the movie "White Christmas", it's great. I watch it every year.)

The War on Pokeweeds
Переглядів 7 тис.11 років тому
At the request of another Utopian friend, who wanted to see me dig up some pokeweeds, I give you this video. If you're looking to get rid of pokeweeds yourself, your best friend is a shovel and an axe as a backup weapon. Just dig down like you're making a hole for planting a tree or good-sized shrub. This way, you can get a good chunk of the root system out. FYI, I have absolutely no background...

Uploading for the listening pleasure of my friends in Utopia and anyone else who wants to listen. This is a live recording of our Spring 2007 concert, so please ignore any background coughing or whatnot :D

Couple of songs from my time in the Campbell choir. Some pictures are mine, from the tour in Italy. Others were taken by Phillip T. and Mark Manring.
Brilliant!
Just discovered that this is what I have in my yard. Wish there was something I could put on it to kill it
Great stuff! Thanks for posting this...
You call it a WEED - yes it is toxic : if it is picked and COOKED properly it is a good vegetable. I am 67, have eaten it ALL MY LIFE --I have not died from it - PS I have DDOGS, and they NEVER eat poke
Thank you. I can’t understand why people want to kill it. I use it for medicine
you can actually eat the leaves it's the root and berries that are poisonous
the whole plant is toxic. It is medicine and food it has to be prepared properly.
The leaves are very poisonous. The whole plant is, actually. It has to be boiled twice over to even be edible.
Lonnie Withers that’d wrong and it’s the seeds in the berries. Just don’t chew them. I eat the berries every day when I have them. It help arthritis
This appears to be a reduction of Pachelbels two-choir version, replacing one choir by the organ. Bach's contribution is the work of a craftsman, without changing the harmonies much.
What is it with people and coughing and making noises when in situations like a live performance recording? ;D
I love it when people try to cough in rhythm with the song, lol :P I can't remember which song it was, though, and it might have just been a coincidence.
our neighbors have them growing against their fence which have also made there way into our yard.
U need a systemic herbicide applied in late summer. It will be absorbed in the leaves and transferred to the root during that time as the plant prepares the root with energy storage for the winter.
goblik Oh, wow...I never came back to this video to see that I had comments, sorry. I borrowed the score from our choir director. It's an older copy, published by Robert King Music Co., 1959. Here's a link I found to purchase the score: bit.ly/1Bjxqtb.
YOur lucky I have dug some out the size of huge boulders!!! IT SUCKS..
A few basic organ errors during the Introit....still 9/10 for the vocals alone! :-)
Glad you liked it! German is always a fun language to sing. We had a student playing the organ for this piece, not the organ professor. It may have been one of his first concerts, since I'm fairly certain he was only a sophomore or junior at this point.
Hi, thanks for posting this! Didn't know Bach wrote the harmonization for this piece too. Would love to have a hand on this score. Who is the score publisher? Thanks!
