Moínhos da Malveira
On the slope of Monte de Santa Maria, in Malveira, there are seven magnificent windmills on the south side.
Very old buildings dating, according to research, from the second half of the 17th century. A few years therefore, after the Restoration of Independence.
But from that time, there are only six mills. The other, the oldest of all, dates back to the founding of Malveira, thus about three centuries older. It's the Devil-Soul Mill. The one that is further north, being the first to count from the summit.
The Diabalma mill, as the people know it, was the only mill in Malveira for three centuries. As there was no other in the place, and for that reason, this one had his hands full when it comes to work.
