Did it, with a few detours, fifty years ago in a tiny Mazda Bongo van..and that was with nearly 500k of dirt road from the WA border which in our case was waterlogged from heavy rain.

Well done , road is trip is a bit of an adventure😊, while it can be a bit of fun to do the whole trip in a hurry , breaking it up a bit and seeing the sights if you have the time is nice too. I’m a bit partial to stopping in the rest areas , tenting it or doing the hotel car thing , or doing the grey nomad( caravanning ) across the country . Either way it’s nice to get out of the big city’s into the outback for a while.

In 1990 I drove a B Double with 2 drivers Sydney leave around Friday afternoon Perth Monday early am back to Sydney late Wednesday early Tuesday go again next Friday ,lots of stories in between 😅

What's the hurry? That kind of driving can brutalize you ...I've done it myself a few times but I had a deadline.
