Hah, thought this was just black at first, but there seemed to be something more there. Looks great, I've been thinking of a dark green, like a heritage, British or otherwise. Might investigate Pearl Green for my Aeromax I started building last weekend. Cheers

Have walls to stop the water if it gets in. They will be high enough so the water should never go over the top them.....here have I heard that before?

Hi there, A cracking job you have done on yer Britannic build. How did you make the rear decks for the stern section? Im looking to convert my old 1/400 Revell Titanic into Britannic & im trying to find the rear aft decks for the stern & gantry davits with no luck. Ive found 3d printed parts for tge gantry davits & aft decks but not in 1/400 scale. Any advice you could give me would be gratefully received. Cheers, Wayne.

Four years on and this kit remains controversial for its many glaring inaccuracies and omissions. For something so large and expensive, Trumpeter could have done their homework a lot more thoroughly. Drilling out the portholes for a start, getting the windows right, stern plating simply not there, no covers for the lifeboats, no bracing for that massive hull, really crappy LED light set ..... the list goes on. No wonder the after-market brass kits and add-on accessories made an absolute killing. Mine remains mothballed because I can't sell it and I refuse to throw another cent at it. The box art is nice ......

On Nov. 13, 1941, HMS Ark Royal was torpedoed by a U-Boat on its way from Malta to Gibraltar. All personnel were subsequently evacuated, and on Nov. 14 at 0619 she capsized and sank. The Captain (later Rear Admiral) Loben Maund, was court-martialed, and was "...found guilty on two counts of negligence: one of failing to ensure that properly constituted damage control parties had remained on board after the general evacuation, and one of failing to ensure the ship was in a sufficient state of readiness to deal with possible damage." He was censured, but no further action was taken against him. A further Board of Inquiry found design flaws played a role in the sinking, as once the engines were down, there was no alternate source of power. He went on to become Director of Combined Operations, Middle East, and was retired after Operation Husky in July, 1943. He returned to service in August, 1943 as Rear-Admiral, Landing Ships and Craft, and was instrumental in the D-Day landings.

I used to spray soapy water on so you get a real good spread of soapy water

Even Peter Davies-Garner made mistakes on his 1:48 scale Orlando model. I noticed he didn't follow the details of the CADD plans he made. His plans were consistent with other plans I've seen including Harland & Wolff's, which is why I'm baffled he made changes on the final model.

What colour did you paint the photoetched windows?
