Well played! I never completed this game back in the day. Got a personal headcanon, though: there was no rookie. It was all just the Tachikoma, creating a new employee at Section 9 just for giggles, and to prove a point. Giving a middle finger to the Turing Test.

What a sweet load of rose-tinted nostalgia this game is. I really did like the style of anime a lot better, before it perfected the science of mass appeal. When it was a bit more niche and weird, and wasn't scared to make things a bit ugly. Also these cyberpunk aesthetics are sick, and I think I even prefer this VA for Motoko to the one they got for GITSAC.

I'd begun to think this game was just a feverdream from my childhood. Really cool style!

I think of Red Ribbon army whenever I encounter red ribbon in this game sometimes as well!

These are a fun set even without any big hits. Kids dream on halloween
