As someone from Europe who one day would love to visit SA, I found your points very interesting. Concerning different ethnicities in the US, I have heard that asking ppl about their ethnic background is even considered iinsulting, or racist.. which is wild. Such a shame.. I am like you, I also enjoy guessing ( or learning) different people's origins and mother tongue, but in today's world that is sometimes seen as offensive. Maybe SA is more relaxed when it comes to living alongside other cultures.
