Barbes is dangerous and dirty but there are many most dangerous places in Paris. Stalingrad district for exemple is much more dangerous because of crack users.

Guys, Barbes is not rhe worse place in Paris. Stalingrad station or a large part of 19th is worse. But Paris is nothing compared to north distric of Marseille or some suburban city like Trappe on western side or Bobigny. In this place your are not literaly in France, its outside the society.

The biggest danger in this place is the bicyles who come from everywhere and some algerian who want your smartphone. Anyway it is peaceful and very cultural.
