    The ones I see for sale say for parts only. Is that what I'm looking for?

    • @TroyTime02
      @TroyTime02 13 днів тому

      Yes. Although there is a chance they might have a small issue, perhaps something like a missing pixel on the display, I have ordered more than a dozen and they have worked well. If someone has the terrible luck of getting one that doesn't work well, they are only out $6. I would order a second one in that situation. The phone is still a good value at $12 if that is what someone ends up paying to get one that works. That is a good point though. I should have addressed it in the video.

    • @TroyTime02
      @TroyTime02 13 днів тому

      I believe they mostly are listed as parts only because of the lack of battery and back plate.

  • @conniehamilton1781

    I have the phone and battery packs you suggested and have wired it up and got it working! Yay me 🎉 I’m a complete tech noob grandma, and when I heard the recent news I wondered if any/all of my small battery packs are at risk. I’ve also heard we probably have to be concerned about any of the larger battery power banks like Ecoflow, Jackery, Bluetti, etc., - basically anything with a lithium battery that can maybe be hacked. I’m sure cyber experts have known all of the capabilities and dangers, but we regular old citizen consumers are just now learning of the risks - or at least some of it. I know you have a background here…Do we need to worry about all lithium batteries?

    • @TroyTime02
      @TroyTime02 13 днів тому

      Hey Connie. Things that dpn't attach to the net are at Very, Very, low risk. Things that attach to the net are always a little bit vulnerable to manipulation. It's a;ways smart to have some fire prevention methods in close proximity anytime you have a large power source like with the solar generators.

      @TroyTime02 24 дні тому

      Hey Kshav. I had a clip showing how I put the sprout in but it got lost when I did the video edit. I'll include it in my next video. Basically, at least one edge of raft has to have a ramp and then you cut a small slit in the middle running parallel with the ramp from the edge to about half way through the raft. It's easy to do but kind of hard to describe in words. The small the sprout, the closer to the bottom edge of the ramp you place them.

    that's pretty cool! I rent and have limited space so I'm always looking for ways to maximize. I get quite a bit in my small area and prep my harvest for canning, dehydrating and freezer. I love learning new ways to maximize my space

    Starting romaine and kale today. The first phase is about a week. How long is phase two and three? Do you just base it on the way it looks?

      Yes. Typically, I will harvest the final tray around day 24 -26. Also, there is the option to harvest the "top half" of the leaves, and they will grow back a few times. If it's your first time growing though, I would just harvest the whole tray and start a new one. Good Luck. This is one of my favorite ways to grow! :)

    I wrote out the steps if it’s helpful to anyone else. Soak 1/2 cup of beans in a mason jar for 24 hours in warm water Rinse them off and spread them out evenly on a tray Spray them with water 3 times a day Weight them down with another tray bottom and put something in it for weight Cover it with a box to keep it in the dark Take weight off after 3 days but leave cover on. Put some water in the bottom tray. Wait another 2 days until you see all the yellow flowers so they grow longer Pull out a handful of beans and cut both ends. The whole plant is edible Rinse beans and agitate the beans. Shells will sink to the bottom. Fill bowl with water and take out the beans. Put them back on the tray to dry out.
