I have a 1999 ML320. I recently installed a Kenwood KDC-BT282U. At first there was no sound. I searched UA-cam and found your video. I followed your advice and it worked. So thank you. If I don't use the car for 3 or more days, my battery is drained. So I wonder if tapping that red wire to feed power to the Bose amp draining the battery if the car is not being used?
I have a 2002 ml500 boss system I have the harness with the rca I hook up all but the Orange from the new harness cause there is no other Orange from the harness on the new stereo so the thing is I dont have sound I ALSO have the other harness with the speaker colors and nothing I think I just need hook up the rigth wire for the amp and thats it but I dont know wich one is it please I need help
This might have been said in all of the comments but did a great job on the video talking wise but the video wise was a little rough because you're not showing what you're actually doing the camera is off to the left right And you actually don't pull into or show exactly which wire is which
Hello friends, I would like to know if someone worked adapting it to the second connector? the 2003 mercedes mL320. , harness does not have the orange cable, only the second connector has it, can I connect to that? please help
Just bought one of these POS's stereo is jacked, typical MB. Thank you for the info im gonna swap it out. Will post how it goes Also do ALL THE SPEAKERS WORK EVEN THE DOOR TWEETERS?
I have a c 240 from 2002 i bought that block harness your using right there it's for a Volkswagen but apparently it's universal for Mercedes however the brick or the block has two plugins right the two smaller plugs and then you have that wide plug you're saying not to use the issue I have is the pins don't match up when I plug in the plug and I only have one plug I don't have two plugs to plug into that block what am I missing where is this other plug that every time I see a video of it it shows this block with two plugs in it and I don't have to plugs what do I do
having the same problem, the wider one is for the steering wheel controls, if your missing the second smaller one then that means you can’t bypass the amp because the second one is the speaker output but yours runs through the amp (I’m pretty sure)
I've got a 2002 ml320 with the Bose factory amp and speakers and as you already know is a pain in the ass as far as to trying to upgrade your system.. Anyways.. so ya our saying it need and adapter with RCA cables to get it to work? What your saying about sending high level wattage To the low level Bose makes perfect sense .. just trying to get around that as painless as possible!! Lol .. well on the pocket and install .... Getting a Pioneer Sph-10BT just to be able to have some music from my phone playing as you already know the MCS factory radio is garbage and I'm honestly getting burned out on the same 6 CD's in the changer being that CD's are even a rarity now ... I'm going to eventually rip ALL the Bose stuff out of there and just add a whole new quality system . Double din, all new door speakers couple amps and some subs in the back etc.... So this is just temporary... But might be for awhile and I'm going insane without being able to use my Spotify or Amazon music Wich I have thousands of songs!! Your help and or advice will be MUCH APPRECIATED!
What do I do with the orange amp wire that goes in the back of the stock one with the clear and red lights on it??? Anyone want to help feel free please and I do t have a harness
Any trouble with your dash and cluster lights? I installed a new radio almost exactly the same way and my only issue is my dash and cluster lights no longer work... Can't figure out why. Mine is a 2000
Great video....can you tell me what year, make n model ur vehicle is in the video? Also, I am confused what the part #vw9000 actually looks like. I think you said it was an "adapter"? And finally, how did you know that the orange wire was to the amp? The reason I am asking is because I just bought a 2005 SL500 with some cheapass planet audio unit in it tied into bose. The sound is awful...lots of distortion and I am wondering if the original amp was never tied into the new head unit since it sounds so bad. I never listen to the radio, but live stream music from my phone or an occassional CD.....too much distortion for a bose system. Thanks...would appreciate a response. Rick B
Folks, this is not for a BOSE system. If you do not have a BOSE system, it's possible that the speakers are labeled BOSE. You will need to purchase a separate amplifier that will handle 2 ohm speakers and you can use the original speakers. trash the factory amp. There is a wiring diagram on the web for the speakers connected to the BOSE amp. You will need to connect those to the new amp. If you see the factory radio connector going to the radio on a BOSE system, it is missing the speaker wires. If you have a radio with nav, ALL ML's already have a nav antenna and you will never find an adaptor wire to convert to an SMA connector.
anthony. On the ML 320 when you connected the blue wire to the power wire and then to the Orange Amp pin, did you remove the old wire to that pin or add it to the existing wire in that slot? Also, where did you attach the ground. Not sure how this youtube system works, so if you could email to pfpmike@gmail.com that would be appreciated. Thanks.
Man nothing i do will make it work im pretty sure i have it the same way you do. Except the wire isant orange on my cars wiring harness. still no sound :(
My W210 has got a problem with Pioneer DVD head. Once engine started, there's intermittent echo sound from the speaker. It's happen even I turned off the DVD head, but everything goes normal if engine off. Do you know why? Would it be the BOSE amplifier inside the trunk need replacement? Appreciate for your expert comment. Thanks.
Worked just like you said was able to do the whole process in less then 60 sec which shocked the hell out of me doing some thing so easy . Thanks a bunch
what if your wires has no orange wire? I just installed a kenwood for my wife's ml320 and it has power to the head unit but no sound. The door speaker says bose. There is a orange wire on the 2nd connector that is not needed with the new head unit.
I have a 2004 ML350 and im having a hard time hooking up an aftermarket double din.need you expert advice pls. Just need detailed instruction on how to connect the wires
Great video, one question though. I have a 2002 ml320 with a Bose system I bought and hooked up an after market radio and I get power but no sound at all. After days & hours of talking with tech support at Crutchfield they said I need to "bypass the amplifier" for my after market stereo to work, I'm not a car expert and have no idea how to do that but will what you did with the orange wire save me from bypassing the amp? Thanks in advance.
unfortunately not, after weeks of working on it and talking to people came to the conclusion that I would have to wire all the speakers individually and do a lot more than Im capable of to bypass the amp. Decided to just get a bluetooth speaker with radio haha problem solved
Driving my Benz s430 2003 with no radio. Then today i was like fuck it..after a year i got radio in my Benz. Iam going to try connecting the subwoofer wired i should had done that ohh well i got radio now.
for my 2000 Ml320 non bose but has amps it worked. Man you saved me brotha. from what i know you switch the battery and constant 12+ wires and add the wire to the 12+ antenna slot to the battery wire to head unit. I had no sound up until now. I was really starting to doubt myself lmao
you did not have the wires for the steering wheel becuse i want to change my head uint but still wanne use my keys on my steering wheel
Pure gold this worked perfectly
Do you know where I can get one for a clk 500?

Make sure you don't have the bose amp! You will be sending high level wattage to a low level input on your bose amp. You need a adapter with the rca

Dennis Mitchell or try to hook up that orange wire from that connector to ignition power
I will try this tomorrow, its a 02 ML320 Sport. Thanks. Will update in case that works for someone else.

Is this the same pin lay out the a 2000 ML320 has? If so I'm just going to make my own wiring harness.
