    Great content as always! May I suggest you use a contrasting color for your comb? It would be easier to see what you are doing/cutting if you had used a white comb for his dark hair or if his hair had been gray then use a black comb. Just a suggestion, please keep up the great work! JR, North Carolina

      @@eighty20barber You’re most welcome. When I was taught how to cut hair, two of my instructors had a similar approach. They let us approach each head of hair and let us work our “magic” on our own- only stepping in when we started to struggle. We learned the basics quickly and were able to develop our own personal style and skillset. I’m a “scissor” guy who loves working on length and layers, but also an old school scissor taper. The way you spoke and explained what you were doing reminded me of them. Keep up the great series!

    I had a classmate tell me that he disinfects the blade after placing into the blade holder prior to use. Is it really necessary to spray the new blade with alcohol prior to using it the first time though? It's my understanding that these blades already come sterilized from the factory.

    • @eighty20barber

    My brother the barber, do you know what I did? I took the natural soap dried it, and ground it until it became dust. I put it in a box. I swear to God it makes the hair softer. What do you think?

    • @eighty20barber
      @eighty20barber 2 місяці тому

      Thats a smart idea! Though we have not tried it but if it works for you then great! Our only concern is that regular soap could sometimes leave the skin dry that’s why when using special shaving soap that’s formulated to keep the skin hydrated is always better.

      We always recommend blow drying the beard before styling and shaping. This will help with making sure all the hairs and cowlicks are as straight as possible so you can cut them with accuracy. If you still have sticking out use your scissor to free hand it into the shape you desire.
