This species just became my favourite. Everything is amazing. How it saw the fish from that far away and under the water, how it got the fish at the first strike, the way it kills the fish, the way it cleans himself after eating. Incredible.

Lots of people in comments saying that this is a male Kingfisher. But it's not, this is one of the more uncommon species in birds where the female is more flashy than the male. The females have the dark orange band on their white underbellies, but the males do not. That makes this individual a female.
