We stomped Around there for almost 8 summers. From the "tubes", the "Rush", "The Green Waters" to the "Diver's doom" in Thorold where all 4 canals flowed at different times

also so much of what the third canal was is land, buildings and roads now. My great great grandfather worked on a canal ship in the 20s and went through the third canal although his ship went down in lake superior in 1927. There are actually videos of him and the ship he went down on (The Kamloops), if you search old whitey on youtube there is a video of his body floating around down there, its kinda creepy but also cool knowing so many have seen a dead relative of mine.

HI Reme, I walked the upper section last Sunday, great to see it drained. The lower section, 7000 feet long would make a perfect man made whitewater racing course! Each lock bottom could be shaped to create different styles of waves, and the flow could be controlled for a skill levels for kayaking! Bring history to light again! Got some perfect Bald Eagle photos there too! Thanks for posting!

Superb visuals and very informative, Rene. Every time that I visited Niagara, I made it a point to also visit the Fort Niagara. I love the drive on the Niagara Scenic Pkwy and the fort and the beach. The last time I visited in 2019 and I made a video on that. I wonder why the fort doesn't pull as many visitors - Niagara visitors will realize some day that they are missing out this very important landmark.

I have driven by the shipyards many times ..and maybe if being honest sometimes frustrated by long waits at the bridge ....and wonder what was really happening.behind the walls.
