Eddie's Electric Car Project Finished After 37 Years
Decades of off and on work went into this electric car project that was finally finished in 2019. I was involved only in the last two years of the process and Eddie, Norman and I worked to complete the project. I did mostly electrical work, Norman and Eddie did the bulk of everything. I had promised to do a video but only learned sufficient skills to get this admittedly low tech video done recently, two and a half years late.

The prices on these reels vary over time on AliExpress, sometimes free shipping, sometimes not. Wait for free shipping. Average shipping time to date 8 days. Also these inexpensive reels will rust easily so do not get water salt or fresh inside the reel. Also after salt water use wipe down reel, remove spool and clean where accessible and lubricate reel. Do not rinse with hose, water may get inside.

Thank you so much . Very kind. Any thoughts about this Suzy 2.5 please. Went to see a used one 2007...look good but I am new on boating. Do you recommend this motor compared to a Honda 2hp. Thank you in advance. Best Regards

cruise the web, main differences Suzuki water cooled and reasonably quiet; Honda air cooled and sounds like a lawnmower, which is also air-cooled; most commenters seem to prefer Suzuki, that was my choice when buying new.

I have the same exact boat and outboard motor configuration as you have here. Does your motor like to bury itself when you get on the throttle, like mine does? I'm trying to get any ideas from others on how to keep this from happening.

+Kevin Knudsen Yes, the motor tries to bend the end of the Intex Seahawk II (aka Mariner 3) boat down from the torque produced by propeller thrust, bringing the 29 pound Suzuki 2.5 HP engine too close to the water. It was really bad when I first launched here at Mashapaug Lake in Connecticut that day even with the new plywood motor mount. I returned to shore and added as much air as I was comfortable with to make the boat stiffer. That helped a lot. Also on my previous outing with the standard Intex motor mount I was concerned how close the motor got to the water surface. Disassembled motor mount, cut a piece of 3/4" plywood to raise motor 4" higher. This height still kept the water cooling intake port below water. This also brought the propeller closer to the surface making for less torque force bending the motor toward the water surface. Of course, the ultimate solution would be to attach the motor mount to a frame attached to a hard floorboard, but what I've done works OK for me.
