Have you encountered the issue of transportation lock / or paper jam issue with these 8550 printers?

Kevin, this video was perfect! So much better than the useless info at HP with their reboots and unplugs, blah blah blah. Using your video I was able to purchase the gear from BCH and get the Torx bits needed (who has a T6 on-hand if you don't repair printers. Thats tiny). I'll be using your video as my step by step guide to disassembly, replacement, and re-assembly. I also watched another similar video of yours where you and Amy repaired the same issue on a 9025 (seems HP has a reoccurring issue with this series) and her suggestion to warm the gear in hot water to make it go on easier should prove useful. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and helping others out, If I were closer to NC, I'd just bring it to you and have you fix it but 1000 miles is a long way to go to fix a $100 printer.

Thank you for the video. Here’s what worked for my Epson ET-2850: The error was not letting me access the "Wi-Fi Setup" menu. I had to restart the printer. (1) Restart the printer (I left if off for 5 minutes and took the power cable off both ends). (2) As soon as you see the home screen scroll to the right and select “Wi-Fi Setup”. You can also go to Settings - Network Settings - Wi-Fi Setup. (3) Select “Wi-Fi (Recommended)”. (4) Press OK to proceed. (5) Select “Others”. (6) Select “Disable Wi-Fi” and confirm your selection. (7) Switch off the printer (for a couple of minutes) and back on. I hope this helps someone out there.

My printer showed error: "The print carriage cannot move. Open the cartridge access door, and clear any paper jam or obstruction" As I was checking all obstructions, I pulled the white tape which moves along the printing head and broke it. Any leads how I can get the tape fixed. 😢

Sublistar sucks. The brand is lacking factory quality contol. Bad machines lacking experience. Lot of problems there are far better machines to buy. jDo not buy sublistar you will regret it.

Maybe for my Epson ET-2850, I looked up Epson 2207229 Wireless Module, delivered cost $40 CDN from Epson approved parts supplier in my country. PrimeParts. Ready to install now that it’s arrived. Do I worry about ink tanks leaking standing unit on its side to remove screws?? Part installed, works. Cables were difficult to slide back in. The motion to get scanner off sliding off to right from pegs. Forcing broke one 🙄 but superglued it back. Didn’t have to take board out, just got enough room to remove and replace. Repair total $40

This fix worked on an hp envy pro 6458. The piece I ordered snaps right in place once you file down the broken piece but I super glued it anyway. Thanks so much.

Hey, i had the same problem and following your instructions I found the broken gear and replaced it (thanks!). But now, the colour doesn’t work and it prints with horizontal lines (there are also some strange noises at start up)… any suggestions??

My double sided prints always jam when printing 2nd page. I found a long plastic piece thats fallen out but not aure what is is or where it cane from. It looks like a claw

great tutorial I have the hp 9015e and I didn't want to buy a new one just yet. I saw your video and yes it was a broken gear. So, I bought the gear and the T10 screwdriver. This was a gamble but well worth it. It took me a while to take apart the printer, but I did it. Changing the gear was easy as compared to putting it back together again. But with a little patience I was able to succeed. Thank you so much
