This is the official UA-cam channel of the Commission for Gender Equality, an independent Chapter 9 institution established in terms of Section 181 of the South African Constitution. Our Mission is to promote, protect, monitor and evaluate gender equality through research, public education, policy development, legislative initiatives, effective monitoring and litigation.

CGE’s Public Education and Information Officer, Keneilwe Mokalane, speaks on issues pertaining to domestic violence against elderly people at a community engagement hosted by the CGE in Northern Cape, Kimberly, Homelite. This comes after the SAPS in the province reported a high rise of domestic violence against elderly people, mostly done by their grandchildren.
