Building a retail energy market fit for the future.

We’re an independent, not-for-profit organisation, originally established by OFGEM to implement and manage the new Retail Energy Code. This followed a review of energy Governance and the experiences of industry participants and importantly, consumers.

Big challenges lie ahead for the retail energy sector, and it is our intention to tackle them, solve them, and keep supporting all the stakeholders in our industry so they can operate successfully and deliver a great service to customers.

Our objective is to simplify Governance and bring innovation and efficiency to the retail energy market, improving the experience of industry stakeholders and outcomes for customers.

We do it through an ambitious and comprehensive set of workstreams and programmes, ranging from urgent and current improvements to strategies for handling the big challenges of the future such as the transition to net zero.
