My piano channel
I'm an intermediate level piano enthusiast. I'm no professional but I might be able to offer some tips for you depending on your playing level.
I've been playing piano since I was 18 and now I'm 54. With that said, I should be way better at the piano by now but the truth is, I haven't made studying piano a priority until about 3.5 years ago when I joined pianowithjonny.com
That community is the BEST I've seen and it has helped my playing exponentially! I would highly recommend it

Piano Man
When I first started playing the piano, I wanted to learn how to play Piano Man and had fantasies about playing it in front of a group of people where everyone started singing along. This is a basic version of Piano Man that could easily give you the goods to play it in front of a group of people and they would recognize it and maybe even sing along! I hope you enjoy...

Having some fun with a slow blues
Переглядів 158Місяць тому
I recorded this a few years back and just happened to come across it while searching my computer for something else. In my early stages of learning "Bernie's Blues" by Jonny May, I had decided to have some artistic fun with this one. The look is B&W vintage video and with a faux coffee-house crowd, lightly talking in the background. Hope you like it

Cruella with Metronome
Переглядів 1162 місяці тому
My take on a tune I had been working on for a while from the Piano with Jonny course. Inspired by the Cruella de Vil character in 101 Dalmatians. Forced myself to play a little faster by using the metronome in this one.

I received a request from @hugheaglesham9849 for an overhead look at my previous video. Here's a look at what I was doing (for the most part).
Practicing Riffs

A little practice session based on a riff played over the I, IV & V chords in a blues shuffle.
Creating a Ballad vol 2
Переглядів 1723 місяці тому
In volume 2, I’m improvising the right hand over the chord pattern in the left hand (I-V-vi-IV), in the key of F. I’m not very clean yet in this video (nor am I staying in time) and I’m absolutely experimenting with the improv approach. I get to a point where my love for the blues finds its way into the piece. 🤣 In future volumes I aspire to play with better time and accuracy. Please come back ...

Tryin’ a little change up with the left hand
Thank you for the lesson and inspiring me to add so more interest to my right hand playing. Much appreciated 👍
Glad to hear you found the video helpful!
I always learn something new - when I’m paying attention. Thanks! Is there a way to show the notes of the licks on the staff?
Hey Randy! I’ve seen others display the notes on the staff but not sure how they do that. It probably is a feature in their software. I don’t that I have that in mine but I’ll do some research. 👍🏼
@@frankiefingers-piano Thanks, Frank! You are always swinging the bat . . . or should is say, swinging the bass!?!?
Amei…🌺
Been searching the net for a good blues shuffle tutorial. This is the one. Thank you.
That is very kind of you, thanks! Please comment what other videos you would like me to produce. I’m happy to make the videos my audience wants to see. 🙏🏼🙂
Congrats on getting monetized dude!
Thanks brother! I’m grateful for your advice and help along the way. You’ve been so generous with your time with me. 🙏🏼
Very nice.!A little different than your usual blues improvisations which are great!
While blues is my favorite, I do venture out and play other things. Thanks for your encouragement and support!🙏🏼
Great lesson.Thanks
You bet! Glad you found it helpful.
Great performance Frankie! Any chance we could talk live on the phone? I have a couple of questions I wanted to run by you about your learning experience. Greatly appreciate your time. Thank you, Dan
What time zone are you in, Dan?
@@frankiefingers-piano Eastern Time (Connecticut) Thanks for answering my comment.
Shoot me an email to frankiefingers64@gmail.com and we can coordinate a call at a time that’s convenient for the both of us
I had headphones on and that doorbell sound confused the hail outta me Thanks for the tutorial!
Haha! Did you head to your front door? 🤣
Great tutorial, Thanks. Just subscribed and I love the blues.
Glad you liked it and thanks for the sub! 🙏🏼
how come I dont know how to do this
What do you mean exactly?
Thanks Frankie. Love it
Love your vids Frankie. New Orleans blues is right up my alley.
Thanks brother!
Obrigada…obrigada…👏❤️
Muito obrigada por compartilhar. Voce é o melhor. Vou treinar muito. 👏❤️🌺
Good lesson.Looking forward to the next one!
Thanks brother!
Lovely playing. Great groove.
Thank you very much!
I love that song. Nice job as usual.
Thank you very much! This was the first song I learned from PWJ. The member, Elisa had posted a version of it which I saw within my first few days of being a member. I fell in love with the song immediately and was moved to learn it right away. It took me outside of my comfort zone with the left hand 10ths and coordination with the right hand. It was a huge thrill when I began to developed the hand independence necessary to play it this way.
Great Lesson...Thanks Frank :)
Thank you, glad you liked it!
Wonderful piano music!🎹🎼🎵🎶 Like 👍. Thank you very much!💜 Have a great day! 🌅
Many thanks! I appreciate your continued support. 🙏🏼
Nice Frankie
Thanks Andy!
Very good video presentation. Can you help me in obs set up to split the video of the webcam and window capture video? I record with Cubase pro 13 and Focusrite 6i6 interface and USB microphone.
Thank you! I can try to help. What seems to be the issue you're having?
Very smooth 👍👍. Love the outro
Fascinating watching the progression, I love the feel of it. Lovely work
I bet a lot of viewers don’t recognize the disarmament sign.
Love the presentation, Frank 🙏 Dressing for the part - hats and shades - is a bonus for your PWJ friends. Thanks! A nice, big fat cigar would go well 🙏
Very nice Frankie. I especially liked the film scratches to give it that old film style.
Wonderful piano music!🎹🎼🎵🎶 Like 2👍. Thank you very much!💜 Have a great day! 🌅
Great work on that. Keep it up
Thanks for watching! I appreciate your support and encouragement.

Wow! That was great and I can't believe how quickly. You put a lot more into it than I expected. I have my work cut out for me. Thank you so much.
You’re welcome! I love making videos based on requests from subscribers. I’m glad you enjoyed it and can benefit from it. 👊🏼
Very instructional video.
Glad you think so! Thanks
I’ve been a subscriber to PWJ for a couple of years and I’m embarrassed to say I am still a beginner level student. I have to start practicing more. How much do you practice?
Lately, not as much as I'd like. Life can get a little hectic from time to time, so I'm happy to get a 15-30 min session in if I can. Some days I don't get any. When I was making the most progress, it was 1-2 hours/day.
Will there be a slow parsing?
I had previously posted an overhead view of a performance with an intro as well. ua-cam.com/video/xbclZ5vlJgE/v-deo.html
In what key is the work conducted?
It's in the key of C
Very nice!!
Nice
Amazing! 💜💜💜 Beautiful piano music!🎹🎼🎵🎶 Like 1👍. Thank you very much! Have a nice day! 🌅 Marisha.
Many thanks 🙏🏼
Do you have detailed tutorials for these songs: Green onions and What’d I Say, By Booker T and Ray Charles?
Sorry, I don’t. Not sure my skills are to that level yet.
This is the best c shuffle tutorial I’ve seen!!!!!
Wow, that’s very generous of you. Thanks for the kind words! 🙏🏼
Nice work Frankie. Enjoyed that.
Love the slow blue's. How about a tutorial on portions of it emphasizing a really slow 2 hand 10-20 bpm or stop between for triplets, for us who can't learn any other way. I realize it's harder for you to play it slow.
Let me see what I can do for you, Jim. Perhaps this weekend, I’ll have a little time to tackle that request. 👍🏼
@@frankiefingers-piano That would be great, but at your convenience!
Love it Frankie. Thanks
Great interview guys - really enjoyed listening to your playing and chat 😁🎹👍🏻
Thanks, Martyn! Nice to hear from you 😀. How are things across the pond?
@@frankiefingers-piano interesting times Frank, like the USA too 😎🎹
Great lesson.Looking forward to the next one!
Thanks, Hugh! Any requests on what to focus on in the next one?
Love ya stuff Frankie. Thanks for
Thank you, Andy! Are you able to glean from my videos?
@@frankiefingers-piano yes I’m learning so much. Thanks. Slow process though still struggling with hand independence
Coming along great Frank. Love your turnaround lick
Thanks man! Did you see I have a video tutorial on that “famous lick”? ua-cam.com/video/lCOTqJ8a-gw/v-deo.htmlsi=eP9smc9AQhYVFrRW
Nice C9 at the end :-).
A la Dr. John!
Great demo... lots of techniques here... turns, arpeggios, walk-ups, different left hand patterns... thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Nice LH pattern
Thanks!
