4 tips to UNDERSTAND English speakers in TV shows and real life
Hey, UA-cam! Welcome back to my channel Lingualana. Today's video is a bit personal because we're diving into a topic I've struggled with myself - understanding TV shows and movies without subtitles. But fear not, because I've got some tips based on my own experience on how to fix that. Let's jump right in!
4 MAIN ASPECTS that IMHO cause this problem:
1) Accents and Pronunciation
2) Speed of Speech
3) Informal Language and Slang
4) Cultural Context
Tips to fix the problem (based on my personal experience:
1 Persistence
2 Graduality
3 Technology - a game-changer
4 Language learning apps.
For more details watch my video!

In UA-cam, go to Settings and choose a slower playback speed. On a different situation, when you are watching any video on Google Chrome, it is very simple to add a "Google Extension" (choose an app from the Google app store) and pick a video speed controller... That way you can control the speed (slower or faster) of any videos you watch on Google!

In India we have this concept of learning both British English words and alternate American English word in Schools (Even though our textbooks are based on British English), so that were ever we go can understand what they are saying about 😊
