MUST HAVE LIGHTING UPGRADES FOR YOUR 2020 SILVERADO!
While I love the lighting on my 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD it falls short is 2 categories. The reverse lights and the Fog lights. With the factory reverse lights you can barely see behind you when you place the truck into reverse. Especially with tinted windows. The fog lights are a different story. Every time that you want to turn the fog lights on you have to push the button on the dash. There is no way to have them turn on as a default. And when you turn them on you lose the automatic high beam feature that is extremely awesome on these trucks. We have solutions for both of these shortcomings for about $120 and 20 minutes of your time. Follow along as we knock this out.

Переглядів 16 тис.Рік тому
One of the things that I did not like on my 2020 Chevrolet 2500 HD Duramax was the amount of chrome. I decided to take matters into my own hands and start deleting it. I jumped on Amazon and bought a $25 chrome delete kit and went to work wrapping the window trim. The transformation was beyond impressive. Follow along as I take steps to make my truck my own. Thanks for watching!

Watching from my 2020 2500 duramax with 50803 miles
Sounds like you have a nice viewing room! Thanks for watching!
I'm a ram guy. 2016 cummins 2500, but the chevy 25s are way nicer from what I've heard. I'm seriously considering trading in my ram for a service body 2500 HD Duramax. You've helped me move one more step towards.
Just here to provide my unsolicited feedback. Thanks for watching!
😅😊
Thank you just bought a used one w/73k. Looking forward to put my own miles on it.
Thanks for watching. I have a bunch of maintenance videos planned once the weather gets nice enough to film here!
Such a beautiful truck!
Thank you so much. I really enjoy it!!
I LITERALLY just bought this truck and I’m so excited I can’t sleep lol so I’m watching videos on it! Great job bro!
Congratulations on purchasing an amazing truck!
Diesels are so fun.
Dude did you just say what thought you said?😂😂😂
Quite possibly did!
Same boat I was in, but I pulled the camper with the 1500 for about 4 years. Was tough! Moved up to a 2022 Silverado 2500. It rides great!! Very happy at 13,000 miles to date👍🏼
Thank you for reassuring that I made the right choice. Sometimes I wonder if I made the right choice even though I love this truck!
Do you have a part number for the other gloss black trim peice
Which piece are you referring to? The factory gloss black piece?
@@cityboydiesel5586 yes
My Dad has the 2020 work truck model... Don't have as many features as yours, but I'm starting to come around to really liking it... Only other difference is my Dad's truck has the long bed, so that makes his truck extremely big... I have a 2005 Kenworth W900 and that 2500 Silverado Duramax is almost intimidating to me to have a pickup truck with that kind of power and torque... I'm mainly a Japanese truck type of guy, but I've always liked Duramaxes because they originated from a Japanese diesel called a Duro in Japan...So maybe that's why I'm so accepting of this American made truck... And that 10 speed mated to that Duramax is on another level!..👍🏾... And I noticed that Maryland tag! So are we...👍🏾
I did not know that the Duramax derived from a Japanese engine. Thank you for that piece of trivia and thanks for watching!
What is your bed cover? Do you recommend it? What do you like better about the shocks? I still have the Ranchos, and they seem really bouncy, especially the front.
The Bilstein 5100's provide a smoother more controlled ride. The bed cover is a Bakflip MX4. Thanks for watching
So I have to get a $65 Costco membership to do this?
Any card will work. Didn't want to get judged for using my Adam and Eve preferred shopper card
Just hit 30k on ours. Absolute masterpiece of a truck. We got ours to pull a trailer too!
Only issue we had was the recall on the DEF tank sensor, but it was under warranty
They are a pretty reliable machine!
How much does it cost?
I got my pod used but I think they run $150 ish. Check out block8headpods.com/ for more info!
I like it black..the least expensive and the least work. And it looks great. I was searching for a video like this to do mine. Great job. 👍
The first window was daunting but it was quick and easy after that! Has held up well too!
I am not really into the Vinyl but can I borrow your Costco Card ?
Why don't just put you on my plan?
2020 2500 HD, my hate is mostly with no storage in the console or anywhere in the truck.
Do you have storage cubby's in your back seat?
Do the mirror caps next.
I am thinking of taking them off and painting them body color. Maybe rattle can DIY style!
@@cityboydiesel5586 I thought about that too but the amount of stuff you have to take off to get to them sucks. Worried about breaking the glass.
The mirror lights work in reverse
I will have to check that out. Thank you
If you dont like the truck then why did you buy it in the first place and anther thing on every vehicle that I have had from having gmc or chev I have had a ford nissan subaru and a honda and on everyone brand of vehicle that I have had with fogs turning off everytime when I switch from high beam and it turns on that is why alot of people get a light bar because they use it with there high beams
I actually love the truck. But I wanted to make a video pointing out what I "disliked" about the truck. Are they deal breaking items? Nope. Would buy the truck all over again. As for the fog lights maybe I didn't explain well enough. Every time I start the truck I have to hit the button to turn the Fog lights on. There is no option to leave them on every time the truck is on. First world problem i know.
I’ll be buying a 2022 2500 diesel (my first) Caharrt edition w/11k miles. Thank you for your review!
Amazing truck. I hope you love it.
Just bought a 2020 with 24k miles on it
Awesome!!! What color did you get?
Lol ya I got the sport edition so I wouldn’t have All that chrome. I just posted a video on my 3500 truck if you wanted to check it out.
I absolutely will. Thanks for watching!
Def a good install but my question is when u turn on the air dont u think the ac or heat would ruin the idash gauge going threw the hole where the wires run into bottom off pod to gauge.
I believe that "vent" is for the defroster. Shoots air on the window. Either way I have not noticed any issues after having had it installed for sometime.
Thanks for the video. I am now subscribed. I own a 2021 3500 LTZ (Single Rear Wheel) and I really like it so far with about 22k on the odometer. Like you point out in another video the body sheet metal is way too thin and dents really easily. I understand weight is an issue and this is the price we pay. We tow a 2021 Grand Design 303 RLS 5th wheel RV that weighs in around 12k. We live in the Sierra Mountains and spend a lot of time in the western mountains. The truck does an excellent job with our trailer on the steepest grades both in the Sierra and Rocky Mountains. I added a Bak-Flip Hard Bed Cover (like yours), a RDS 60 Gallon Aux Fuel Tank, Banks iDash, and front receiver hitch. I plan on adding Bushwacker Fender Flares and BF Goodrich K02 tires. BTW I 3D printed a gauge holder for the iDash that attaches to the A pillar. I can share pictures / information of that if there is a way to contact you. The suction cup windshield mount kept falling off in the hot sun. I look forward to more videos on your truck, thanks again!
Great idea on 3d printing a mounting cup for the Idash. I put out a video adding the Blockhead gauge mount. Looks factory. I see that Banks is also 3d printing gauge cups now. How much does it cost to fill up that tank? lol
Do you make anything for the new 2023 Chevy 1500 interior?
I personally do not make any of this. I bought the gauge pod from Blockhead gauges.
The only thing I hate abought my truck is in cruise it won't speed up and slow down when behind someone on it's own. Also hate the payments.
You would have thought that the truck would have had the option for adaptive cruise control. My wife's 2015 Ford car has it. Shows how behind the times GM is with some of their technology. No worries though. It is available for the 2024 model line. lol
That's the no, one reason I got the 2020 High Country in silver, I hate all the chrome on the lower grade Chevy's.
If there was a High Country on the lot I would have gotten it to avoid the chrome as well!
Awesome vid
Thank you so much for watching!
Just subscribed to your channel. I just bought 2022 chevy silverado 2500hd with 6.6 duramax diesel . Love it so far I have no complaints
They are amazing trucks!
Good morning hey I have a question infect I have lots of questions this being my first diesel truck . How often do you change the oil? I did a oil change about 2 weeks ago in reset thee system so that the dash says oil at 100% . Someone told me when the percentage is at around 20% to change it .I just change the oil 2 weeks ago in its at 62% ?
I am in the market for one . What’s the total cost you paid for it ? Great review
To be honest I do not remember. It was right before the chip shortage drove prices through the roof so I know it was less than what they are selling for today.
Sounds good thanks . You bought at the perfect time . Keep it don’t sell . Enjoy
I went to the website and could not see this specific pod for the sierra, how do I go about ordering one?
Look up Block8head custom vent pod on Social media. He has not updated his website with all of his offerings. Social media is the best way to get a hold of him. T
I ordered 2023 lariat f250 w/tremor pkg..cost 70K- Ford said the build starts mid march- can’t wait to drive the big ass truck w/ Godzilla engine
Sounds like an amazing truck. Enjoy it! Thanks for watching.
Good review sir! Mine is a 2022 GMC Denali 2500HD. Wish you success with the rig and the channel
Thank you for watching. Enjoy that truck!
Sorry I meant I love it too
Its all good dude! Thanks for watching.
Well done buddy I got the same truck and I love you too
LOL
Would like to see final view from driver's seat. And color match with the ash gray or "walnut" as block8 calls it. A little worried dealer see the gauge they will start digging around and try to void my warranty. Even no footprint doesn't matter if you have it ready to hook up.
Great question! The color match is 99% perfect. As for the warranty, the iDash from Banks is not a tuner but just a gauge that monitors information generate by the ECM. Think of the ECM as a DVD player and the gauge as a TV. The TV does not change the information on the DVD player. It just displays information. Thanks for watching.
I had a 2010 silverado LT 5.3 gasser. In june 2020 I bought the 2020 Silverado 2500 HD LTZ Duramax 6.6 . Love the truck no problems. I pull a 10,000 LB Gross weight 28 foot over all conventional travel trailer. Very smooth stable ride. Love all the cameras and technology on this model. New sub !
Sounds like we have a very similar story. Thanks for the sub!!!!
I had a 2015 Silverado 1500 LT 4x4. Loved it! Drove by a small local Chevy dealership one day and spotted a 2020 Silverado 2500 LTZ. You know the rest of the story! The 2500 pulls our 26’ camper like a dream and the drivetrain is unbeatable!
I like you! #1 spot to increase your channel's engagement ᎮᏒᎧᎷᎧᏕᎷ!
Big thanks
You're driving my dream truck. It's hard to find one with the front bucket seats with the center console.
The center console was a must have for me. Thanks for watching!
I bought a 2500 LTZ in September, really like the truck. I did the same, went with diesel so we can get a travel trailer.
I haven't found a bumper pull travel trailer out there yet that it can not handle! Thanks for watching!
😂😂😂
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the review! Looking into a 2020 lt duramax
Its an amazing truck. You wont regret it.
That should be under bumper to bumper warranty.
True but how the water got in there was self inflicted!
make sure to make a fill plug so you can top her off with fluid too
UGH I knew I forgot something
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks for watching.
I've seen this a lot with the blinkers still working.
These were on the way out!
