I watched another video and when his signing he uses 2 or 4 in total beats on the bass drum
so un kapo mi bro
Very nice, my brain would explode if I attempted this. Well done
Excellent lesson and exactly what I was looking for- thank you!
very nice
thanks. It's a fun one
Thanks for sharing. Very informative
Gotta show this to the young drummers of VC who need to see your method! Nice lesson James!
Thanks James! My perspective on it is I learned a lot from y'all! Thanks for being part of the soundtrack of my life!
Thanks man ! Play it all the time. This helps .
Thanks man!
Thanx! From tel aviv. Love al jackson jr. So much. You can feel his heart when he plays and he just brings so much joy into my life so many years after his tragic death. Amazing artist
It's such a simple groove but it totally makes the song
amen to that
How do you read the fucking book
Hi! Thanks for your videos. How do I save a new tempo on a kit? It keeps changing back to the predefined tempo. Thanks!
Hi Liliana! Thanks for watching. You have to change the tempo in the actual kit by clicking the menu button, selecting kit, and changing the metronome in the kit screen. This will save the tempo.
This video could have been a minute long. I like the information but the introduction is overdone. That being said thanks for sharing.
Nice work, man! Holding it down...
Thanks man!
Nice solid playing!
One of my favorite songs off of one of my favorite albums of the past few years. Thanks again Chris
You forgo to mention the shift key which can be used to speed up tempo changes by whole integers.
Thanks man. I use that trick all the time. I made a newer video including that. Such a great trick!
Cheers mate and keep it strong in will power.Drummers rule :)
Hey man, thanks so much for making this video! I'm applying for school and have auditions coming up next week. I'm gonna play the Kacey Musgraves song and was unsure of how the hi hat pattern goes. It's definitely harder to play with accents like that so I might stick to just plain 8th notes (+16th note choruses?) but finally I know what's missing when I play it. Thanks again, this was really helpful!
Awesome! Well I am glad I could help you out! I think that will definitely work playing 8th notes for verses and 16th notes in the choruses. I actually think that playing just 8th notes the whole sing is hip to, especially if you can accent the &'s of the beat. Good luck with your audition and let me know how it goes!
One more comment, the SHIFT and BUTTON [+/-] pattern is also useful for selecting WAVs in PAD editing.
Again Obrigado!!!
My name is really hard to say in English hahaha. (i'm brazilian) Glad to help those who seek help!
You can also set any pad to tap tempo function. I tempo sync my own loops. When we go to play them live, I can set the tempo up faster or slower if we are wanting a slightly different tempo. Even after I trigger the loop, I adjust the tempo during the song with a few hits on the designated tap tempo pad (I usually use one of the the top three smaller pads). This can create a lot of versatility musically with loops
Hey John! Thanks for the tip man. I will have to try that out for sure!!!
How can I do that ?
Press SHIFT and BUTTON [+] to change tempo faster.
Eliabe Abreu thanks! This is a great tip
Thanks for the tip again man. I included it in an updated video... ua-cam.com/video/ey5hPUY7458/v-deo.html
Totally agree with you about Schauffler
Yeah he is the man!
hey i didn't know you made this?! super cool
cool dude!
Nice work man. Have you missed a day yet? I fell off my routine for a while, and all I could think about every day was "I bet James is still on a streak." ha
hahahaha I have not missed a day yet! I am not the best about getting the videos posted the same day, but I record a new one every day. Hop back on the wagon man!!! I want to see more videos from you
That is so freaking bad ass. That was so fluid. I want to see more of these "untold stories" of mistakes that happen during live performances. I think this is a really fascinating part of your craft. nice work.
Thanks man! I thought this might be a good little clip about messing up live lol
Good stuff. Looks like a cool photo shoot. I can't wait to see the finished products
Oh and btw... I just liked this video by accident with one of our client accounts haha... so you got an extra like (free of charge) ;-)
Nice work man! Keep this up. I have been off the video train for 2 days, because I haven't had my camera (LAME excuse I know). Anyways, this is good stuff. I like the "studio recording" and "behind the scenes" feel.
Thanks man! I appreciate it. Hahahaha yeah man I have been looking for some new videos from you!!!! Thanks for the suggestion. I just put out a video from a photo shoot I did a few days ago and tried to take your suggestion of behinds the scene vibe.
