It turns out that Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2018 will render it at 5.7. But that's if you want to pay for subscriptions. I suspect that PowerDirector will be able to render at higher resolutions quite soon as more consumer-grade cameras that can do 4K+ enter the market. I was pleased with how it handled the direct sun. I placed it edge-on, as I do with the Xiaomi in the same circumstances, but I found little or no issues with visible exposure mismatch along the stitch line. I also like that I didn't have to do any post-processing to sharpen and enhance the video, because even when down-rendered to 4K, it still looks crisp. Most surprising was how resilient the camera is in cold. The Yi 360 stayed on as long as I wanted it to, and it had plenty of battery life remaining after over two hours in -7 Celsius with the significant wind chill. I'm not sure how it will perform in hot temperatures though. Connecting to the device with the app is a breeze compared to the Xiaomi, which save me some extra fiddling around (I prefer not to keep taking off my gloves at that temperature). Sure, based on comparisons I've seen, it may not be quite as good as the Fusion, but given the price differential, I still prefer the Yi.

I agree that the Yi 360 is really easy to connect to the smartphone app vs the Mi Sphere.

Yes. Since I shoot in extreme cold more often than most people, anything to prevent frozen fingers is appreciated. I hope the voice control feature will be working soon.

The voice control feature should already be working. You just have to say "Yi Action, start recording" or something like that.
