Love the 70s and this sitcom was one of the best to represent the era ❤

For me, this series Cagney and Lacey is the best series of all time. All the problems that Christine and MaryBeth dealt with. Both had families and private lives. They were full women and role models for my entire generation of young women. And the two leading actresses played with such intensity that you never see and never see again, not on TV and not in feature films. Tyne always played the lovable, sensitive, good one. And Sharon played the opposite part, resolute, fun-loving and argumentative. She played the drunkard so realistically, as well as the raped woman with such sensitivity. For me, Sharon is the best actress of all time.

RIP Barbara Mitchell 1929 - 1977, taken far too early.

I think "King Solomon's Mines" [1950] is a very good film. I don't know why this film isn't more appreciated than it is? It's a great adventure. It stars a great cast. Deborah Kerr has never been better. Stewart Granger is a wonderful leading man - he's so not typical of the handsome stereotypes of that era. He's jaded and somewhat burned out, and his mercenary need for the money feels very modern. The film crew actually filmed much of this movie on location, deep in Africa, which is impressive enough, but the film uses genuine African tribes - as opposed to actors wearing makeup to "look tribal" and "native". The music score is also highly unique for the time: using real African drumming instead of a typical dated musical score from that era. The Watussi tribe especially are memorable in how tall and lanky they are, almost like extraterrestrial aliens. You really get the feel of being deeply immersed in the wilderness in this film. I think this is a vastly underrated film. I can't believe it's such a forgotten and overlooked movie.

I just love this series of books my teenage years were spent in Danygraig St and 82 now they bring back so many memories of Pontypridd I have searched everywhere to get it on dvd but no luck so far if anybody knows where in UK can get it please let me know
