I got AC 1 when it came out and got all the subsequent games up to unity. Although unity wasn’t my favorite game of all of them, it definitely had the smoothest and most fun parkour out of all the games.

It’s hard to say it’s peak when it CAN feel so awful to play at times. Like Arno has a mind of its own and you are making suggestions of where to go

One thing that I really love about Silent Hill is that they always make their character look like normal people. Most game devs hire supermodels for their character design and hire different actors for their acting, hell even hire another actor for the voice acting.

I used to hate on this game so hard back in the day Now I consider it to be my favorite (by gameplay) the parkour is so unrealistic but this is the main reason why it’s so awesome

Talking purely visual design, weirdly I think both look more like the original. Like the old version has the texture and blueish tint but then the new one has more accurate lighting and smooth pale skin. The black in his hair in the first render also seems more accurate to the original but even as someone who wants remakes to be 1 to 1, I have to say I like the final version of his hair way better.

As a new player of silent hill, knowing that Mary’s body was in the backseat all along, i can understand the developers first attempt in the bathroom mirror scene, like he is dying from shame

The rope scene is definitely better on the left - you can see that grim look of a person who's decided he'll end it. Sends shivers down the spine

I prefer the new one, the one form the remake. The mod looks unnatural and cartoony. The jumper looks bad as well, there's some stretching and the normal map doesn't look right to me.

I disagree with folks who think the trailer version of 0:55 was better.. the subtlety in the retail version, the way he looks up at the end, the reflected red light.. it's just perfect.

How do you jump down and make a slight angle adjustment? Every time I try he just goes to the spot ahead of him, instead of to the side.

James is a quirky, confused, lost individual detached from his own reality. Bloober succeeded when they made him less attached to what is in front of him. While James is somewhat of a protagonist, he’s also the antagonist at the same time. It’s what made SH2 stand out from the rest. Whatever Bloober did to make him look more tired and bewildered, it worked!
