Incredible discussion. Even though I've watched countless Lilo interviews and heard this story again and again (which I love), this one really hit home for me. I haven't come close to experiencing the magnitude of where things went left for Lilo but I've had my own close calls which almost resulted the same; but really and truly, this has brought me to a place where I want better for myself, my family and my spirit. First time watching your podcast as well bro and I must say, you're on the verge of becoming an incredible journalist. I love your temperament, your patience, care, research and questions. Thank you for this. Truly.

25 today. I know I have to stop being so hard on myself I need to be able to give myself grace and understand that I am not this undeserving person. I am a flawed man yes, but a flawed man who wants to do good and who only wants good in his life.

Very true though I knew what love was when I first started dating but through relationships and breakups I’ve realized that as cliche as it sounds if you can’t fully love yourself and love your flaws and where you are in life right now, you can never fully love another. Only a portion of your heart are you able to give up and be vulnerable to them

This is an example of a misconception that 'if GOD is real' then He must be in total control all the time. But I would suggest that GOD chooses to allow evil, and for us to make mistakes. Because these circumstances can teach us lessons that we'd never learn otherwise. Life is simply about 'Struggle', both individually and collectively, it can't be avoided. Now, personally, I find it comforting to believe there's a being who accepts me despite my failures and mistakes. A being who will help me, even if only in small ways to grow, to learn, to be a better person. That gives me hope, in a life where I don't have any other hope. And without that hope, I couldn't keep living. Still, I respect this man's right to choose what he wants to believe. And I wish only the best for him and those he loves. He's both stronger and luckier than I will ever be.

People seem to forget God has already proven His love for us. The cross. No matter how crappy we may think life is...Jesus paid the penalty for us, as long as we truly believe.

Don’t listen to this folks. Only ppl who have safety nets (rich parents, inheritance, etc) can afford to fail. Normal ppl have to make it work on the first go around. Remember, Bezos got 100’s of thousands from his parents, elon also had wealthy parents and never invented shit, trump got a “small million dollar loan” and many more millions his dad left him.

Bro this spoke volumes and the fact is Optimism and dedication are what we need in everything we do! We all know the truth but some of us deny the existence of the truth and majority of us will remain blind and lost until that actual existence is revealed. The bible says in 2nd corinthians 4:3 "But if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those that are perishing. In whom the god of this world have blinded them who dont believe, unless the light of the glorious gospel of christ who is the image of god should shine upon them."

The truth that you are denying is that Jesus was trans. He BECAME a man, therefore affirming is transition into a man. He was the first trans man and he was so brave for that. Do not deny this truth, because you know it in your heart.

@@calebcool2171 Bro trans wasnt a thing back in Jesus time. Also this whole thing about being pansexual, trans etc and not being just a man or woman has this worlds mind warped. God man man in his image and because he saw that this world was evil and couldnt save us he sent his son who came down in the form of MAN to be a remission for our sins. NOWHERE DOES IT SAY HE WAS TRANS! standing on business as usual so please leave that idiocy for the birds and bees my brotha in christ.

The power you give them shouldn’t be in your life. The person is irrelevant. Cutting people off is labor that I don’t give. Just stop talking to people when you don’t feel right about it in the moment, and your perceived morals over the situation become irrelevant. And it’s not that deep, you can hit them up when you want something. Why care when you don’t have to? Care as much as they do, not enough. They will only care in as much as they have the capacity to, not everyone has it. A pos will accept you acting like a pos, they are a nice potential outlet so you aren’t a pos to what’s most important to you. Just be whatever makes you comfortable physically and “morally” within the moment you’re currently experiencing, and keep doing that… forever…

Very inspiring episode Avi!… when Jonathan talked about making the decision to change when he was in prison it reminded me of the Alchemist quote that when you want something all of the Universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.
